ummm, where to start...

- The whole Ralphie thing is cool and I'd love to see it in person sometime.

- CU? Really? University of Colorado should be UC. What's the deal with that?

- The game will likely be a blow out. Good team at home v. bad team on the road. Altitude. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Take the Buffs to cover and take the over.

- We pretty much suck in all phases...except... punt coverage. We lead the free world in punt coverage. So the take away is, we'll probably give up a TD on a punt return this weekend.

- Players to watch from OSU: Treston Decoud (CB), Bright Ugwoegbu (LB), Seth Collins (WR), Victor Bolden (WR/Returner). There are some other stand outs but I know you really don't care all that much.

- We don't know who our QB is. We played a walk-on, true Frosh in the second half last week. Not even on the depth chart. His name is Conor Blount. Garretson, transfer from USU is the starter? Who knows.

- We don't have an identity on offense and our OL is very young, weak and inconsistent. So I expect that CU will be able to pressure the QB with 4. Drop the max into coverage and neutralize our Offense completely.

- Thanks for beating our younger sister from down the road last week. Very satisfying to watch. Especially in their embarrassingly orange costumes.

- We've heard all the beaver/rodent/vagina jokes. So knock yourself out, but we won't be impressed.

- Does your coach cry after every win?

- Like I said in another thread, BennysHouse.com is probably our most active forum.

- Oregonlive is the online edition of the Oregonian newspaper in Portland, OR. They do the best coverage of OSU sports.

- Thanks for the time and I'll take your answers off the air.

Go Beavs!

Go CU, lick the Beavers! I bet you haven't heard that one!

Does MikMac cry after every win? Don't know, not a large enough sample size yet.

We enjoyed beating your sister last week too, hopefully we'll pound your Beavers this week. (I bet that is a new one too!)

CU instead of UC, don't know why, but that is the way it has been since, well, 1876 or so.

CU is not in a position to take anybody lightly, but, thankfully, after a decade in the cellar, most cannot take CU lightly either.

Here's to a good game, no injuries and a CU win.

Welcome aboard.

EDIT: With a handle like the glove, shouldn't you be a USC fan?

2d EDIT: I'll stack your punt coverage team against our punt catch team any day of the week.

- The whole Ralphie thing is cool and I'd love to see it in person sometime. She is and you should. Best tradition in sports

- CU? Really? University of Colorado should be UC. What's the deal with that? CU is a Big 8 thing. (OU, KU, NU, MU, CU)

- The game will likely be a blow out. Good team at home v. bad team on the road. Altitude. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Take the Buffs to cover and take the over. The altitude is going to be a huge factor if we get our tempo rolling.

- We pretty much suck in all phases...except... punt coverage. We lead the free world in punt coverage. So the take away is, we'll probably give up a TD on a punt return this weekend. That would be fun, but not anticipated. Our PR is pretty good, but his priority isn't to break one it is to secure it.

- Players to watch from OSU: Treston Decoud (CB), Bright Ugwoegbu (LB), Seth Collins (WR), Victor Bolden (WR/Returner). There are some other stand outs but I know you really don't care all that much. Know about Collins, Bolden, and Nall. Looking forward to what our DL can do against Nall. He tore us up last year.

- We don't know who our QB is. We played a walk-on, true Frosh in the second half last week. Not even on the depth chart. His name is Conor Blount. Garretson, transfer from USU is the starter? Who knows. We don't know who ours is yet either

- We don't have an identity on offense and our OL is very young, weak and inconsistent. So I expect that CU will be able to pressure the QB with 4. Drop the max into coverage and neutralize our Offense completely. This would be ideal, but as I said Nall killed us last year, will be interesting to see if the beavers can get their run game moving.

- Thanks for beating our younger sister from down the road last week. Very satisfying to watch. Especially in their embarrassingly orange costumes. You are welcome. Making them look silly, in those silly costumes was wonderful.

- We've heard all the beaver/rodent/vagina jokes. So knock yourself out, but we won't be impressed. More entertained with Oregon's hand signal being sign language for vagina. This means they scream "VAGINA" all the time.

- Does your coach cry after every win? No. However he lost his mentor/best friend/father this off season. This is likely adding more emotion to the games than would be usual. That being said, if the worst thing our coach does is have tears of joy after a victory... I can live with that.

- Like I said in another thread, BennysHouse.com is probably our most active forum.

Answers in bold above.

UC is in Berkely. We are not UC. We are CU. It's our thing. Deal with it.

I'm just hoping we don't let down after last week. Games like that have a way of bringing teams crashing back to Earth. Hoping that doesn't happen this week.

MM doesn't cry after every win. You'll have to forgive him on that emotional display last Saturday. Dude came in to a wretched dumpster fire of a program. He has consistently improved the level of play and has finally seen some results in a big game. I felt like crying, too.

OSU's version of tuff tiger?! Welcome to AllBuffs, should be a fun week. Look forward to seeing your club on the field.

All of the old Big 8 schools put the state first and university second in the abbreviation.
Oklahoma - OU
Nebraska - NU
Kansas - KU
Why? I have a vague memory of someone posting the origin of that on here before, but I can't recall how it came about at the moment.

I don't know the exact reason, but it is probably has something to do with those schools are all referred to by their state name only.

Actually, the school in Berkeley is Cal or California. All the other UC schools are UC[Whatever].

You really have your work cut out for you here. whOregon ("lol") fans are the worst.

Well see this is their first real shot at the big time. CU has been there before. Our fan base has been forced into hibernation for a decade plus. So many years of pent up doucheyness. Just wait.

UC VS. CU
The acronym “UC” was used by the University of Colorado for fifty years, beginning when the university opened in 1876. Around 1924-25 “CU” became the official abbreviation, presumably to distinguish Colorado from the University of California. Coincidentally, other schools in the Big 12 Conference also use this reverse acronym. For example, the Universities of Kansas and Oklahoma are known as KU and OU, respectively.

According to University Communications, the current official name of the Boulder campus is the University of Colorado Boulder. The preferred second reference to the campus is CU-Boulder. UCB should only be used in campus addresses.

Note: The official name of the four-campus system is the University of Colorado, and the acronym is CU. Use only when referring to the whole university.

What is it with the state of Oregon, now that I am thinking about it?
  • Oregon makes vagina symbols.
  • Oregon State cuts right to the chase with Beavers.
Does OSU get some slack for being bold, or do the Ducks take the victory for doing it on the sly? Either way, something is clearly in the water up there.
