Coach MacIntyre on Jim Rome This Morning

Ugh. His voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard for me. I'll have to pass.

I've often felt HCMM is somewhat awkward in dealing with the press and I think it hurts his image somewhat but I must say, full and total props to him for the way he conducted the interview with Jim Rome. Perhaps the best interview I've heard MacIntyre do since he's been here. Well worth the listen.

Never liked Rome's style so don't listen. Thought the 'Chris Everett' thing back in the day was entertaining though.
Yeah. It was entertaining when Jim Everett smacked the taste out of that little douche's mouth.

I'm glad MM got some publicity, but I'm not going to click a link to Jim Romes show.

Is this a pic of Rome?

Rome is fine. He has pulled back from much of the shtick that made him famous in the first place. I loved it when I was a mid-late 20's guy living in SoCal, but drifted away from it as I got older - he adjusted after that to gain a broader audience.

The website keeps trying to make me sign up for his "insider" service. Is that happening to anyone else?

I like Rome. Even if you don't, the interview is worth a listen. Coach Mac was well-spoken, and on a national media platform. He was also giving this interview while the team was still on lockdown due to the Crazy Machete Guy getting shot.

Does anyone remember when Jim Rome decided to go on a diet (probably 10 years ago)? He only ate one package of Quaker Instant Oatmeal every morning for breakfast because the package said "One Serving".

That is about all I remember about Jim Rome's show. Sorry, I just wanted to participate in the conversation without listening to the interview.

I was impressed with how prepared and professional Rome was for the interview. Not a bunch of canned questions or schtick. Dude did his homework and made me much more interested in starting to listen to him again if this is now his norm.

A popular SoCal radio station (KROQ) has him on regularly once a week on the morning show and he mentioned Colorado.

Never been a fan but the Jim Everett thing was awesome. However that was what 23 years ago and haven't heard much to keep me listening since. Also, when he named Blink 182 the official band of "The Jungle" about 3 years after they turned into a teeny bop "punk" band I pretty much gave up all hope on him.

He actually always prepped hard for interviews. He had many star athletes that would come on his show even when it was a bunch of BS back in the day because they knew it would be a solid interview. The Chris Everett thing was an outlier.

When he was on at noon in Denver I'd listen to him. But his "clones" get really old really fast. My son's friend sent in an email "take" and it was hilarious. Rome read the entire thing and then banned him for something in the post that wasn't "pc" but that Rome read anyway.

Good interview, learned some things. Coach Chiv deservedly gets a lot of credit for bringing old-school fire and modern coaching and social media to the mix, but coach Mac clearly understands the recruiting game and, from this interview and "The Rise" videos, it's easy to see why recruits gravitate to his message.

Wow, Rome was prepped and excited for that interview. He had a working knowledge of the MacIntyre CU program (I think he watched all the CU_Video clips). He did not overbearingly harp on CU football's bad decade but made positive references to the teams of the 90s.

I was nervous about Rome, he appears to have mellowed.

Rome prepared well for that interview and showed Mac in his true light. The man is real. So glad that he was given time to build the solid foundation that people always talk about.

You are in the minority here on allbuffs. A large amount of ABers wanted him canned. Some undoubtedly still do.

Listened to Rome for years when I lived in So Cal but the clones got very very old. I wasn't expecting much but this was a solid interview. Is it Saturday yet?!

This bunch of thirty-something ass clowns (me and DBT excepted, we're 50+ ass clowns) always wants somebody canned!
Five years ago Bohn, three years ago Toby. Two years ago it was Tad.
Still honing in on this year's target.

This is not true, there was a very vocal minority though. He was always getting a 4th year.
