A couple comments

First-- I was VERY impressed with the two back offense where we had either Sumler and Charles or Ellis and Charles in the backfield. It seemed to really confuse OU.

Second-- How do we get a delay of game penalty on the OPENING PLAY OF THE GAME?!?!?!?

Third-- Cody Hawkins is pretty impressive. He has some serious guts. There were a couple times where I knew he was about to get drilled and he hung in there and completed the pass. It looks like the team is really rallying around him, too.

Fourth-- FRESHMEN ABOUND!! We are playing a BUNCH of Freshmen on offense. Two on the OL, 3 wide receivers, 1 TE, 1 RB, QB. This offense is going to be solid for years to come.

Fifth-- I don't care if he never recruits anyplace BUT Hawaii-- Cabral is quite possibly one of the best coaches I have ever seen. He can take no-name linebackers and turn them into STUDS. I had never heard of this Smart kid before this season-- he made plays all over the place today. Jordan Dizon was hunting pigs and playing RB before he came to CU. He looks like a 1st round draft pick MLB now.

I think Smart tied Dizon last week for tackles. And he is the backup to the backup.

Dizon has been quoted that he's really impressed with Smart and thinks he has a big college career ahead of him. Smart BTW is a walk on.

They said on the TV broadcast that Smart had just received a scholarship this season.

Of course, they also said 3 or 4 times that DJ Wolfe transferred from CU to OU. (Then, in the 4th quarter, they tried to rectify their comment by saying "We meant he transferred from a high school in Colorado to a high school in Oklahoma")

I caught that too. I hit the mute button midway through the first quarter. Awful broadcast team. I mean you get paid to do research all week leading up to the game. Get it right asshats! **** 'em. I am sticking with Zim the rest of the year.

I should also add--- the media here in Oklahoma has been full of praise for CU.

They have said that Colorado just whipped Oklahoma. They have said that it was not a fluke that Colorado won- they said that Oklahoma was out-physicalled, out-coached, and just plain dominated in the 2nd half.

Cody is a gamer. Full on clutch player. How many 4th and goals has he pulled off and made TD's this year already 3? 5? Making bunches of 3rd and longs and 4ths and short. When the pressure is on his game is peaking. That kid gets it done. He reminds me a lot of Major Applewhite - might not have all the physical gifts of a great qb but he finds ways to win games.

We need to pool our money together and do something for our S & C coach. Today I watched our smaller lighter buffs simply out muscle and out hustle a bigger more physically gifted team. One off season's worth of work outs and a night and day difference. He is a genius and all he needs to do is name it and we should get it for him - time share on the beach in Hanalei, Playboy's Miss October, majority share in Google. I don't care. He is turning out to be the MVC (most valuable coach) for '07.

totally agree about the S & C coach. You could just see the OU D wearing down today. Didn't help that they were on the field almost the entire 2nd half.

Dear Patrick Williams,

You were in my doghouse for dropped balls. With Smith, McKnight and Celestine nipping at your heals, I wasn't expecting A BREAKOUT game. You were a big part of the win. Hugh was MVP. But Patrick, dude, you rocked. Nice game. Sorry for being down on you. Congrats on a nice job in a BIG game.

biggest catch of his career today on 4th down, and byron ellis played his best football game as a buff

I was thinking the same thing as Skidmark... you beat me to it. After dropped passes then last games fumble, I was ready to relegate Patrick to the end of the bench for the rest of the season. Good thing the coaches knew how to work with him to get a game like this from him. Hopefully he will continue to produce now.

I said that on severa occasions in the chat during the game. I had pretty much given up when we were down 24-7. But, in the back of my mind, I kept wondering how much our conditioning would help in the fourth. As we started coming back, I could see the difference surfacing. We were going strong, they were wilting. You could just see it.
