Hawk just on with Scott and Al

Said that it was just one win and being a champion is about consistency. Told the team to throw the OU game in the mental trash can and it's time to focus on Baylor. Praised Baylor, and acknowledged that they had a two game winning streak on us and we need to go prove we can win on the road. Not all that much other than that. He didn't sound very excited and sounded very humble when Scott and Al were congratulating him on the win.

Oh and Al thinks T-Wheat is one of the best cornerbacks ever at CU

Al also said that the OU win is his best buff moment since his playing days, he said even more so than the Big 12 championship.

I think he is, too. He's definitely the best since Figures, IMO.

Malcom Kelly thinks so too.

I suspect the interview went something like this

SH: Wubba wubba...uh.uh..uh....Colorado head uh..uh..uh..wubba wubba...coach Dan Hawkins on the line with huhuh....Scott and Al.

AW: Scott, man. Come on man, Man, I'm so proud of these guys man. I can't wait to talk with Hawk man. It's going to be off the hook man.

DH: Thanks guys, we are just taking it one game at a time and focusing on Baylor. (Followed by more Hawkisms and coach speak)

SH: Uh..uh....Dan hawkins!!! wubba wubba, the buffs might be able to beat the hogs.

Aw: Man, you must be out your mind man, come on now Scott man. Come on man.

SH: Scott and Al, uh uh uh 950 the fan

AW: It's off the hook!!!

Chris Hudson played safety for us, if I recall. At one point we had Figures at one corner, Hudson at safety and Ronnie Bradford at the other corner. Throw in Chad Brown, Greg Biekert and Ted Johnson at LB along with Leonard REnfroe at DT and you had a pretty good D.

No ****.

If Rome were interviewing Hawk it would go something like this...

"Clones.................

We have coach dave hawkin of the Colorado State Buffaloes on the line...

...........

pause

Hawkin - cool name.......

Hey Rome, tell hawkin that he left his hat at the restaurant - orenthal....

classic.....

OK, thanks coach........."

Jim Rome is the most ill-informed, unintelligible radio personality on the air.

Chris Hudson was better than Deon Figures.

wrong.

figures was the best college db i ever saw in the black and gold.

hudson was very good, but figures set the standard. and don't give me any of that old school hype on anderson or whomever either.

figures. hands down. the best. he was the definition of a lockdown corner--he had more interceptions than completions against him.

Watching some of the games on Classic from that era, Figuers got beat a few times.. Hudson made more plays than Figures in my opinion..

T-Wheat is good though..

I agree with Manhattan - Figures seemed to make the plays when we needed them the most. Who intercepted the ball in the endzone against Washington? Deon Figures. Who intercepted the ball in the national championship game to seal the deal? Figures.

He was a great cornerback.

I'll never forget Hudson just taking the ball from the hands of a Miami WR in Boulder (the game that began with a brawl.) Amazing play. Figures was a better athlete, but Hudson was nails.
