I think @Duff Man highlighted Tua in his prospects to watch from Hawaii this cycle. I was doing a little house cleaning in the Profile Index and noticed that our link to a Tua profile is broken (old profile thread doesn't seem to exist any more).

What in the world is Oregon thinking?

The kid idolizes Mariota but the Flying Phil Knights haven't bothered to extend an offer?

Got a 19' brother as well already offered by UH and Utah. Damn. In any event, already been to the mainland once for some unofficials, looks like.

Not sure that CU is well positioned to compete for this signature.

ICYMI, Tua announced for Alabama. That has some domino effect with the top recruiting programs in the Pac-12.

After having lived in the southeast for quite awhile, I am always shocked when a recruit west of Colorado chooses Alabama. It will never not surprise me.

I don't think they can pull him away but I expect Oregon to make a run at him now that Kelley has walked away.

My money is on him getting him. Better shot at beating out Oregon's freshman starter QB than beating out Alabama's in the next 3 years.

Seems desperate, Tua has stuck to Bama despite Hurts winning the job and them grabbing a 2nd QB in his own class so far and he's been much more solid in that commitment than many predicted. He has much better options than Oregon if it really bothered him. Even if Hurts wins the job over him, they basically have no one else to back him up and in 2-3 years, the job is his for a consistent Nat'l title contender.

Maybe lane leaving will change his mind? It is weird that these teams keep going after him.

So ....

1. Take new h/c gig at whoregon
2. Meet uncle rich guy, fill wallet
3. Depart mainland with intention of out bidding the highest bidder
4. ???
5. Profit
