Buffs had their chances today to win, just didn't execute..

They play so sloppy on offense and I wasn't in love with Helifich's play calling at different parts of the game.. It seemed we would get good yardage on 1st down, only to nothing on 2nd down.. I haven't looked at the play by play chart but it just seemed we were always in a 3rd and 6 or 5 after we actually had success on 1st down.. And Helifich's reverse's, enough already.. There's times in the game where I would just like to go off tackle for 2 yards and live to play another down.. Buffs are way too sloppy.. There's too many plays on offense where we lose big yardage.. Little Hawk hasn't improved as the season has gone on which I'm a little disappointed in..

Special teams wasn't very impressive again today.. Penalties, missed FG's, not a very good return game, just a plain ****ty game..

I thought the defense actually played pretty well as I said in another thread..I didn't like how we let Kansas go right down the field for a TD after we scored the 7 in the 3rd but again, it was helped out by great field position created by a personal foul on special teams.. Mistakes, Mistakes, Mistakes. This team just never seems to get themselves in good field position..

One thing I'll say about the defense is that they can't get a pass rush whatsoever especially on the ends.. Sometimes Barrett gets in there but I never see anyone else hurrying the QB or anything like that.. Its amazing the secondary covers as good as they do without much help from the pressure not created by the DL....This is defintely the biggest area we need to improve on in the offseason. .we have not replaced Wright..

Today was defintely a big letdown for the Hawk Era.. I still believe, but this game bothers me for the simple fact that I don't think Kansas is much better or even better than us and we lost to them at HOME no less.. Enough talk of the Big 12 North title and I'm tired of hearing about the Folsom field homefield advantage.. Good teams/programs don't lose games like this.. Kansas doesn't have any big time players on offense or defense that are that good. I don't even think they would beat FSU, and I wasn't that impressed with them.. Bad loss today, Buffs have their work cut out for them to get bowl eligible now..

Kansas doesn't have any big time players? Don't be surprised when Aqib Talib wins the Thorpe award. The guy is sick!

LOL, I love how you are Jimmy, turning into what you were before not giving the coaches a chance. If we lose to Tech (which we probably will) I bet you lose it just like last year. And after OU you were all pumped up, well I'm just as pumped after OU, we just don't have the talent and we are a yougn team to consistently be like we were vs. OU.

I didn't think that Ballenger would have a chance to start for a few years, but now wonder if he might not get to sooner rather than later. Next year might be a possibility; I just saw Reesing with better deep passes yesterday. And we need to be able to throw the deep passes if we are going to be trying to get to where (gasp--am I going to say it?) Kansas is right now.:sad1:

Well, it still feels better than to say that than trying to catch up to the nubs. We have the same record, but have lost in far better fashion--not giving up 40+ points to everyone.:smile2:

Say what you want about Kansas, they are 7-0 and have won two big games on the road in tough places to play in Manhattan and Boulder. I personally think KU is good now.

When was the last time the buffs were 7-0? 1994

point it, we are young and lost a close game to a good team, we will only earn from this and continue to grow.

i'm hoping that the negativity that i'm reading on this board is due to post-game emotion from yesterday.

i agree with leash. this is a young team. they gave up some big plays and made some execution mistakes. that, coupled with some coaching errors and some bad calls cost them the game...that is going to happen on any given week in cfb. they don't have the consistency yet to be at the top of the big xii...

...but they are our team, and they are out there busting their asses. with thei exception of that last offensive series (which was a total ****up) i am still high on this team and i know we are moving in the right direction.

bowl eligible in two weeks. after last year, who would have given us a chance in hell to be looking at that chance...

Seriously...the negativity is complete bull****. I thought at the beginning of the year that bowl eligibility would be all we as fans could be happy with. Anything else would be great.

The coaching was fine during the game. A few plays where we could have used a spy on Reesing and that's it. Our guys just didn't execute all the time. You can't fault the coaches for Sprague's dropped passes, Hugh's fumble and J-Fly's drop. This team is getting there. Support your team!

I'm happy for Kansas, but their pretenders imo. CU should have won yesterday. I understand CU is young, and mistakes will happen, but they still should have won. Last week's loss was understandble, but yesterday was a tough one to take.
