Tennyson McArty...very sad news

This is a real shame. My thoughts and prayers are with the McCarty family.

The McCarty family has a long history in Boulder and CU. Eric, of course was the Co. POY at BHS and a big part of Coach Mac's first recruiting class. He's now the Buffs' team doctor.

Another son, Chance (a very promissing athlete in his own right) was hit by a car in 9th grade. I knew him well in high school. I have no doubt that he could have played at CU too if not for the accident.

Now this. My heart aches for them.

perspective is what this guy seems to have had.

when the injury bug bit and closed one door, he found the open window, and moved towards it. he described his work as a "calling". he was living the dream.

godspeed tennyson!

I remember talking to him alot when he was playing for the Buffs. First class guy. He always took the time to talk with me and anyone else. He was never too busy. He was a real grounded guy. I'm sure he's in a better place now.

I read about this in this mornings paper. I was shocked. No word on the cause of death yet. We may never fully know.

Awful. Truly awful.

I just hope its not suicide.

I sincerely doubt it. He was a dedicated born again Christian.

But of course you never know. I suppose born again Christians can suffer from depression as much as anyone else.

this is very sad!

i roomed with him when we were kids at Mile High Football Camp up in greeley....i think i was 13 and he was 14 at the time. he was a skinny running back as a freshman. we played boulder high a few years later and it shocked me how big he was.

very sad and shocking news. :sad2::sad1:

Bipolar disorder gets a lot people as well. They seem fine and on top of the world and then they hit lows most of us can not imagine.

Not saying McCarty was bipolar as I dont know.

Tennyson was a good man. Loved the Lord. My heart broke when I saw this. Spent many a Tuesday night praying, singing and studying God's word with him. God Bless him and his family. See you in Heaven, Brother!
