Reilly takes ESPN Job

There was a thread on netbuffs a while ago about Reilly showing up to an LSU game this season completely hammered and affixed to the arm of some random girl that, if I remember correctly, appeared strikingly "prostitute-esque" (they apparently indulged in some gratuitous necking throughout the game while seated in the press box).

I'd never heard anything about Reilly being a lush before... actually, I'd never heard anything about Reilly outside of his articles before, so I didn't know whether this rumor was just absolute BS or if I'm just absolutely naive about the man. Anybody know the real story here?

I know CU fans have a reason not to enjoy the presence (literary or otherwise) of Reilly, so I posted this with some caution, lol

So, you never heard the story of Reilly's daughter and her friends partying at home while Rick was out for dinner?

Nope... but, unless there's a significant curveball involved, that sounds like it would be more a story about Rick's daughter being a lush, not Rick himself.

Still, if it's good... you know, lay it on me. I'm all about quasi-celebrity progeny intrigue.

I was an original subscriber. Still have the first issue. I was not happy with it . No longer get it.

How many Allbuffs get it now?

I had it a year ago or so and then cancelled. They still send it to me, I even called to make sure they weren't billing me and they still send it. I think I might flip through every 3rd or 4th one.

:woot: I no longer need to be ashamed of my SI subscription. I might send them a letter of congratulations.

The story is that Reilly wrote an interview with Katie Hnida, gushing over every completely improbable, unsubstantiated allegation she built a book deal out of. He made the comment that Gary Barnett was responsible for what "happened to her", even though it was during the summer and the still unnamed accused was invited to her apartment by her, on the theory that a football coach is always responsible for what the players under his charge do at any time. A couple months after making that bull**** claim, police busted a party including the serving of alcohol to underage minors at Reilly's home, hosted by his kids. A few of us noted that, by his own standards, Dick should be held responsible for the party, even though he and his wife were not home at the time.

To top off his idocy, Dick later made the statement that he was ashamed of his alma mater. He may have even returned his class ring or something equally dumbassed. I'm sure he was quite upset when a Denver Post columnist referred to him as a CU alum this weekend in a story about his switch to ESPiN. I know I was... :sad2:

We are still getting the damned thing. I don't know why. I don't recall paying for it.

Are you an ESPiN insider subscriber? I started getting the worthless piece of crap when I did that. They go directly into the recycle bin. If Dick is going to be writing for them, I may have to switch to burning them...

You left out the part where Dick's daughter's friend was, alegedly, sexually assaulted by the, alegedly, drunk high school football player. But Dick bore no responsibility.
