Negatives on the CU win @ TT

Philly wasnt in person to see it.

ABC needs to STOP their current way of announcing the players.

The coaches wife (and QB's mom) should NOT be miked up. She should be shown if they want to span the crowd.

The handoff to the WR coming across the line of scrimmage is overused.

While I am very happy with the win.... the fact that we ran all over Texas Tech should not be a surprise. They suck at run D.

What was great was our ability to stop them at scoring so many times.

The problem with Leach's offense was pretty clear... if a team runs on you, you dont have as much time to score... and your recievers are tired as heck at the end.

The Wheat/ Crabtree matchup was amazing with Crabtree getting the better earlier and Wheat kicking his ass at the end.

I have no animosity towards Tech fans or the school, but I do get tired of hearing about TT's success. It is largely a fraud. TT plays a total wussy OOC, racking up four W's against teams Baylor would clobber, then shows up in the Big 12 S, beats Baylor, and a couple of other teams, ending up 7-5 or 8-4 and bowl eligible while usually having a losing Big 12 record. They are a decent team but they are a product of scheduling if you ask me. Virtually any Big 12 team could be bowl eligible every year playing that watered down OOC. KjSU did it for years and to their credit they seem to be manning up and mixing in a few quality opponents.

You'd think so, but that play resulted in Hugh's TD catch. TT stayed home to cover the fake handoff to the the TE, letting Hugh sneak out the other side.

We haven't busted one of those for big yards in a while and every once in a while we lose yards when we run it, but the defense needs to respect it and it works well as a play action fake.

So, here's a vote to keep it in the gameplan.

I saw one where The Rock announced both of Miami's teams. He went over the alloted time but it was funny. They need to get better people to do it.

That one with the Rock was funny as ****. All the others usually suck.

That play also set up the TD pass to Sprague that tied up the OU game. I get really frustrated with it during the game, but that's twice now that it's lead directly to a TD pass.

All I said was that it is OVERUSED! I still want it in the playbook!

According to a guy we tailgated with at the pre-game, Coach Leach is no stranger to some of Lubbock's drinking establishments. Leach's groggy appearance would make more sense if that idle tailgate talk involved some kernel of truth.

Oh, to be the fly on the wall of an 8AM meeting with a hung-over Leach, recalcitrant Bobbie Knight, and the poor TT AD.

It looked like Leach was hung over when he was introducing his players at the beginning of the game.

Eberhardt's 25 yard missed FG attempt qualifies for this thread. I sure hate to see botched chip shots. Does anyone know if the snap and hold were factors?

Without Dizon's pick return for a TD, I wonder how different the play calling would have been. Those three and out series in the 4th quarter didn't leave CU with much of a margin of error. Fact is that TT's offense outscored CU, even with all of those turnovers. CU's defense, in addition to some stingy clock management won this game. The offense has a ways to go yet. Seems like the trade off is that the offense can put up lots of points, but expect a few turnovers, or expect a few passing yards, and a heavy dose of the run game.
