I love that. I hate it that college players aren't allowed to be happy that they score - especially in the Big XII.

u know what it says to me.....

that Georgia has never scored a TD against Florida.

But it was funny!

But it was funny!

They had lost 15 of the last 17 games against Florida. Richt had called out his team for not playing with passion. It was a great way to put that to rest. It showed Florida that they were ready to play.

That not only won him the UF rivalry game, it probably landed him some pretty good recruits who was impressed with his ingenuity.

I'm all for using the spectrum of play to get an advantage. If that means you give up a silly little 15 yd penalty, so be it. It obviously worked. I've never seen a team play so care free as UGA did in that game... and it ended up being the deciding factor.

You don't think Richt is a good coach. You don't think Tuberville is a good coach. Who the hell is a good coach in your eyes?

I think Richt and Tubervile are "good" coaches. Great coaches is another category. Good coaches lose a couple a year and they keep their fans on the edge of their seats but never deliver the trohpy.

Obviously FSU has yet to have the offensive potential they had when Richt was their OC. If the Dawg fans are patient UGa might get their if they give Richt the time (like it took Mac) to achieve greatness (undefeated season, mNC game). So far, the Dawgs come up one or two games short.

Bear Bryant=Greatness.

your on crack.

Tuberville has only won the SEC gotten jobbed out of a national title, played in major bowls and and gone 9-2 in his last 11 VS top 10 teams....how the **** is that not great?

Don't forget that he has gone undefeated. Seriously, Miami's standards are insane.

Richt is 67-19 at UGa, finished in the top 10 4 out of 6 years, won the SEC east 3 out of 6 (and is in first place this year), he's lost only 4 SEC games on the road in 6 years (LSU, Auburn, UK, and UTk).

Of his 19 losses at UGa 14 of them have been by a touchdown or less.

One of the talking heads said that after the game they interviewed Richt and he confessed that he told his team before the game that he "would be very disappointed if they didn't get an excessive celebration penalty after their first TD".

****ing love that!

top 5 greatest thing Ive seen this college footabll season.

1. Appalachian St.
2. 15 Laterals
3. This celebration
4. CU beats OU, (seriously. That made my day)
5. Oct 15 when TO was hired.

Dude, I heard they were going to be doing wind sprints at 6 AM in the morning if they didn't pick up that penalty. It wasn't a suggestion, IT WAS A ORDER

I hope that Miami will think Hawkins is a "good" coach in a few years. I would take that kind of success in a minute.

What do you think would have happened if that wasn't UF but the Canes from Miami? All hell would ensue.

I watched that earlier when I was at work without the sound. I think I was giggling for a good half hour. Nice job.

How many SEC championships does he have?

How many mNCs does he have?

Maybe you people need to raise your standards.

He has won 2 SEC Championships (2002 and 2005). The title he won in 2002 was the school's first since 1982. He also won the BCS game his team played that year.

BTW, those two SEC Championships tie him with Fulmer and Saban for second most among active coaches. Only Spurrier has more (five).

I didn't think it was classless at all because it was just a show of emotion and wasn't derogatory toward the Gators. This just got them even more fired up and they played like that all game.

What if Cally and the Fuskers did that to the Buffs ? Would you feel the same way ?

or if Miami pulled that stunt. They would have been called Thugs.

I think it was classless.

After my trip to Athens last year, Georgia has moved up to one of the Top 5 college teams I follow & root for. That being said, I agree with chippy. If that was CSU (think rival, neutral field, coach begging his team for some intensity), I don't even want to think about how we would react. IMO, it was classless.

Didn't think so.

I'm sure the Gator fans hated it too and it drew a ton of booing from them. Actually, the Gators got all fired up themselves on the sidelines after that, didn't they? I missed the UGA celebration live but when I got back in the room, I saw all the Florida players getting riled up when it was 7-0.

There have been some rumblings in Athens about Richt's inability to beat Florida and this was more then a statement for him. Richt was almost banking his future on this game and wanted to leave everything on the field. I have no problem with something like that, what I cannot stand is something stupid like stomping on your opponents logo before the game even begins, thanks Gary.

2 SEC titles in 6 years, 3 SEC East titles in 6 years, finished top 10 in 4 of 6 years. He's been a head coach for 6 years, there are plenty of coaches who didn't have a MNC in their first 6 years as a head coach. McCartney, Bowden, JoePa, Spurrier, etc
