What a Jeckyll an Hyde team.

One week we have Oklahoma. The next week we have Kansas State.
One week we have Texas Tech. The next week we have Missouri. 31-10 in the 1st half. Pretty ugly.

I do not think either the Iowa State or the Nebraska games are "gimmees" at this point.

Not very consistent execution and not very consistent play calling. I know we have young talent wide receivers and running backs- but when are they going to start making plays? Receivers CAN NOT continue to drop passes that hit them flat in the hands. 3rd and 2 and we lose yardage?

Tough game to watch tonight.

yea, and the mizzou players have dropped a ton of passes too.

i dont know what to tell ya, buddy. ya just have to hang in there.

things are going to be real good, encouraging at times. at others, you are just gonna wanna put your head into a hole in the ground. thats where the buffs are right now.

you are just gonna have to sit back, kick your feet up and enjoy the ride. the Buffs are getting better. but, "better" is not going to win every game this year given where the Buffs are coming from.

tonight is likely to be a long night given what has happened so far tonight. so be it. the kids and coaching staff will learn from it and get better.

i say.....

Inconsistency can be chalked up to the youth, I think next year they'll be a much more even keeled team.

Nothing can make up for the lack of team speed though. Still gonna take a year or two for Hawk to get the athletes in here to make up for that.

If Hawk keeps going to that retarded direct snap play I'm gonna fly back and smack him myself. I don't care that he's doing it to set up something later in the game. A 3rd or 4th quarter big gain isn't worth the three and outs he's getting early in the game trying to set up a big play.

So far this season, CU can't win under the lights, and can't beat Northern opponents.

This team at times just self-destructs with penalties, dropped passes, turnovers.. I guess you have to chalk up to youth, but geez this was pretty damn embarassing..

Tonight wasn't just about youth. This coaching staff did not put together a winning game plan.

I am not calling out Hawkins, but this was not one of his better efforts. This and KSU game plan were not his best efforts.

Come on guys, all is not lost.

Season 1 we had to learn the scheme.
Season 2 we learned how to fight and win.
Season 3 should have substantially more talent and the ability to compete with some of these teams that have been recruiting one system year, after year after year.

We all knew this would be the case. Unfortunately for us, the fans, we jumped ahead of schedule by finally beating OU and playing a good KU team tight.

I still think we are fine, I still think that we will beat ISU and Nebraska and make it to a solid bowl game... all of this marks progress for this program that we should be excited about.

Yes, it sucks that we had some great recruits out this weekend to watch this pasting but they can take it one of two ways.

1. This team sucks, i'm not coming here.
2. This team needs some playmakers to go with a good offensive system and I can start early and often here.

We'll be good. I'm actually quite impressed with how well we are doing this year despite our schedule.

Agree. I hand it to Pinkle for keeping his players focused on the Buffs this week. The Mizzou defense kept CU to only 10 points, while their offense gave CU it's worst whooping sense the Texas B12 championship game 2 years ago.

This game plan was pathetic....you must agree. What is the purpose of a direct snap?

Why abandon what worked well in the Tech game?

The inconsistency definitely has to do with the youth of this team and they just don't have enough good players to survive the games where they don't play that well. We saw some flashes last season, we're seeing more this year, and in the coming seasons it'll become more consistent.
