I personally feel that this game was a systematic break down of all levels of the FB program! The caoching was poor but not the only problem! Seems to me EXECUTION will always make a play calling poor/great! There was no rhythem and sincronicity thus play calling seemed ****ty! These two go hand in hand and when one fails the other tries to overcompensate! Should Helfrich gone w/ the I formation... probably! Is he qualified for this position?? Not at this point in his career!! Does that mean he can't evolve into being a good one? I think he can be but like him the rest of the team he needs to evolve and get better too!! Helfrich is like a RS freshman when it come to being a OC me thinks!! The pertanent fact is that CU couldn't afford a major name when Hawk came into CU! He had to go get what he thought was a up'en commer!
Many on our boards are sounding like NE boards...RELAX!! CU is in good hands w/ Hawk and Cabral/Hagan! The Q's are still out on Helfrish/Collins/Randle! We just lack KEY players on defense to cover that amount of talent last night! I personnaly feel this MU has more talent than OU on "O". I also think MU will beat OU in the B12 CG!
CU just doesn't have the big/fast LB's to cover their TE's who are NFL bound. Not to mention their speed and size of WR's. Barney is the only nice size CB CU has but lacks the speed to keep Maclin/Franlin and that #8 WR in check! We lack a threat on the ends w/ our pass rush & desperately need to shore up that deficiency this recruiting period ..if not Riddle will needs to be replaced!! He has to compliment this staff and this point hasn't brought in a major contributor to shore up this GLARING need !! Collins is doing the best he can I feel and is a an enigma at times with his calls! Three man rush is the lamest scheme for a formation ever! The thing is CU couldn't do anything against MU with the talent we have! All in all CU needs two more SOLID recruiting seasons to make some headway and become a major BCS program.
