anyone doubt Mizzou is the best team in the B12?

I don't, and it starts with Chase Daniel. He is a tough, quick kid, with remarkable accuracy on the long ball. Bradford, McCoy, Reesling, none of those guys have the talent of this guy. He has a great mix of mobility, accuracy, and poise. MU has great recievers as well, and tough to tackle.

Defensively they are good, not great, but figured out how to shut down CU--load the box, pressure Hawkins, and make him beat you. However, the defense is still better than advertised.

While they have a tough schedule left, I'll take them to win the North and beat OU in the rematch.

I still think KU is the best team in the North.

They may not be as explosive on O but they have a very good O-line and a much better run game than MU.

Their D is much much better than MU. MU's pass D is weak.

KU, MU, and OU are all pretty close IMO. Not a whole lot separates them.

looking forward to that MU-KU game. I bet Mangino is pissed they gave up home field advantage to play at Arrowhead.

I don't think KU has near the talent at the skill positions, and I don't think they can keep up with Mizzou offensively. We will see..

They are a very good team. There are several good teams in the conference and no one will know who the best is until the conference title game. All of the teams, good and bad, have had good and bad days. CU played Missouri on one of MU's very good days and one of our very bad days, thus the result. Looking at the way MU and KU played against us, which was on the road for each of them, I would give the edge to Missouri right now. However, ask Oklahoma about playing a team who is prepared for them. Who knows?

I don't think anything is a sure thing this year. Focusing on our team for a minute, the Iowa State and Nebraska games will probably be very tough. Their players are going to come after it. CU will have to prepare and come after it a lot better than what we saw yesterday.

I think it's a toss up between Mizzou and KU. Right now I think Mizzou is the best team in the North.

KU did not have really convincing wins against Colorado and Texas A&M. They beat Kansas State in a somewhat close game but how good is Kstate? OOC schedule was pretty weak. Sure they looked really good yesterday against Nebraska but I think Nebraska is just that bad right now.

Mizzoui has had some more convincing wins. One could say they "thumped" Texas Tech, Iowa State, and CU. Played a tougher OOC then KU.

We really wont know the answer to this question until both teams play each other. Should be a good game. I think Mizzou beats KU and Oklahoma wins the Big 12 in a very close game this year. SInce Mizzou fans haven't trolled here this year I'll root for them to win the Big 12. :smile2:

I doubt KU would have played any better in Norman than Mizzou. If the North is going to represent the B12 in San Antonio, I'd rather see the OU-MU re-match.

KU = deck chair.

It should be an entertaining game. I think the Big 12 Championship will be a good game as well.

that's what i think. but the KU people i know in person and online say it's not a big deal. and it will a "great atmosphere" in KC.

i don't doubt it, but i'd rather win than have a "great atmosphere".

i think both Mizzou and KU are legit top 10 teams. i'm not sure what to think about OU. i think they are a top 10 team, but seem beatable to me. the OL seems vastly overrated and Bradford gets rattled sometimes. D seems to have holes.

I guess we'll find out soon enough when KU and Missery lock horns. I'm rooting for KU to win the North because I can't stand Missery.

When I put my anti mizzou bias aside, I think they are a far superior team than kansas. I think they should win going away but the beautiful thing about college football is that any team can win on any given day.

I really doubt mizzery is the best team in the big xii, maybe the north division, but not the whole conference.....

OU will beat Missouri again in the Big 12 championship game if they get there..

Buffs just don't match up well with Missouri with the talent we have on the field..

I'm still not sure they'll beat Kansas..

you two are really saying the same thing.

buffwoman, wanna come and root on either the tiggers or the chickenhawks in san antonio?

ubt always can use someone giving him a healthy dose of excrement. :wink2:

I would love to come! We just used our cookie jar fund for this weekend. We are going to start to replenish it though.

I don't think I could root for the tiggers. And I can't root for OU. Wow, go Jayhawks!

i have no idea how the tigger chickenhawk game is going to pan out. but i do know that we will probably have nice weather in san antonio. :smile2:

i also know that there is plenty of rum to be had.

why, you may ask?

because per an announcement ubt made when he got home from leg 1 of hunting, we will shortly be able to start planning on the first baby blaise! :woot: time to start designing the nursery!

Great news LB!! :thumbsup::woot:

i am going to have to remember yesterday as the happiest ever, because in three years when i am demanding that baby blaise get off of the roof or out of the tree, i am going to not be so enchanted that the mother's curse WORKED!

cravings for apples with blueberry yougurt does not really work well in a college football venue, does it? :wink2:

:woot: Now get off my back!

KU still has to beat Okie State in Stillwater. I have never rooted for their football team, but I guess I'm pulling for KU the rest of the way. It would make my brother happy. On second thought, I don't think he has ever rooted for their football team either.

no, no, NO! i waited for ubt to come to this decision without coersion. i did not attempt to re-evaluate his decision. it was his to make, and his alone.

when he gave the thumbsup, the next hurdle was to agree on when to start trying. i said i want the back yard fixed, bc i do not want to do landscaping while preggers. skiing, sure. that fills me with joy. landscaping, no. i hate it, and it fills me with melancholy. but it needs done, so i do it. also, i wanted the room set inside.

positioning this between football season is difficult. i hope to be early enough along by the udub game that i am fine with a flight. trips further in the season will be questionable next year, i'm thinking. unless the back yard takes a LONG time. i do want to be free of baby by beginning may, as preggers in the insane heat here is the opposite of a grand idea.

oh ****, i forgot KU still had to play okie lite. I always root for okie lite unless the play the buffs obviously.

being pregnant should always take precedence over traveling for a football game (did i just say that????), but I agree it is hard as hell to plan with football season.

i liked the okie lite fans when we were there, so rooting for them is pretty darned easy.

i can envision being preggers AND travelling, within reason. i don't think it a grand idea in the 8th and 9th months.

that makes april and may as ideal months to concieve. :smile2:

I think they say no to traveling in month 7 as well (ask your doctor) so maybe June?

june = can travel to all games, minus bowl game.

i see doc in a few weeks, so i will pick her brain about travel restrictions. i am sure she will love the hell out of the fact i am so willful. :smile2:

Missouri's defense has actually been very good in Big 12 play. Unlike say, KU or OU, MU's defense has actually performed much better in conference play then in they did in their non-con. MU's defense has stacked up some pretty good stats so far in Big 12 play:

#1 in scoring defense
#1 in total defense
#2 in rush defense
#3 in opponent first downs
#3 in sacks
#4 in pass defense
#2 in pass defense efficiency (#1 in ypa and passing TDs against)

Unlike KU, Missouri's defense has done this while playing the #3 and 5 scoring offenses in the country.

Interesting stats. I agree that MU's D has been unfairly maligned. I don't think they are as great as they looked Sat--they just had a great scheme to shut down CU--but they are certainly a solid unit.

I'm anxious to see how this season plays out...
