With OU and UO losing there is no argument. All they have to do is beat Missouri. And beat whoever gets into the Big xii title game.

Blow U choked!

I know I sound like a sore loser, but I'm still not sold on KU. We should've beat them. And they won't go undefeated. No friggin way. Its a nice story seeing them have the best season since 1890. But these guys are not no. 1.
jmho.

I agree. I think Mizzou beats them next week.

Good teams find a way to win, even if they should lose one here and there, just look at LSU. Besides, one of our TDs came from a fake fumble pass. Their O can be contained though and I think Mizzou will do it. They are, however, a legit top 10 team.

A legit top ten team maybe. But 'Undisputed #1 or 2? please. if Mizzou plays the way they did here in Boulder, they're going to mop the floor with these guys.

But in the end your right. They found a way to win and they find themselves undefeated right now. Can't take that away from them.

KU has a better defense, but MU has the better offense. MU has better athletes, but KU has a better coach. That's the way I see it.

This is going to be a great game and I'm glad the North is back! Now I just can't wait until we are up there as well. I hope the winner of the KU/MU game takes the Big XII and goes on to the mNC. We had our shot at both teams, at home, so that's why I think MU will win in the end. They have a lot of playmakers.

KU has a scrappy team, but Missouri is going to play for the MNC. KU has not played anyone close to Mizzou's talent level this year, and I'm calling MU to win by 2 touchdowns.

(of course last week I said Oregon was the best team in the nation, so what the **** do I know  )

You can tell the media is having a hard time putting them at #1 because they ARE the only undefeated team in the nation right now so why wouldn't they be #1? The only reason is the media just doesn't think they are #1 material. It wouldn't surprise me if Missery beat them next weekend and that would mean no undefeated teams for this season. This has been a really weird football season. :wow:

Not Necessarily to the mNC game. If MU beats KU then loses to OU in the Big 12 CCG it becomes a mess again. Probably MU and KU to a BCS bowl but not the mNC game.

They are not number one because LSU plays in what's widely believed to be the toughest top to bottom conference in college football for at least the last five years running. KU gets to be number 1 when LSU loses.

For the foreseeable future, I think it is going to be hard for any team to go undefeated.

Great point as well, but remember in the past, if your team lost one game you were pretty much out of the race barring hell freezing over? LSU lost one and look at where they are at. However, we can say this has been a weird season and unlike any other that we have seen before. :wink2:

#2?

why should they not be #1?

Under the Jimmybuff plan, KU and Hawaii should be 1 & 2 to reward them for an undefeated run against non-ranked team.

Why reward mediocrity?

KU has not run a tough gauntlet of opponents, and the ranking reflects that running the table against so-so teams does not a #1 team make.

Fortunately the Border War and B12 championship ensures that KU will have a chance to make their case for deserving the ranking next weekend.

Surely KU fans are upset about not having respect. But you can't have it both ways.

Hawaii is undefeated give the WAC some love - KU vs Warriors in National championship game!!!

You really think they are upset right now? Fuuck, they are #2 for the first time since what... the Lincoln administration? I'm willing to bet the majority of them are pretty happy.

Agree, the ranking will take care of itself if they beat MU and then OU/UT. If they do win out KU deserves a shot in the MNC Game, which is what they'll get. The bottom line is where you end up at the end of the season. Though the current BCS position jockeying is good for conversation.

While I would love to see both KU and Mizzou get a BCS bowl (and nobody from the south) - I don't see how they both go if the North loses to the South in the CCG. If OU/Texas win the CCG that is one spot and hopefully the loser (KU/Mizzou) get an at-large offer.

I assume you meant an 'or" vs. an "and" in your last sentence, but just to be sure.

What would be interesting, though, is if KU/Mizzou winner wins the CCG - does the KU/Mizzou loser this weekend also get invited to the BCS?

They played the easiest schedule in all the Big 12, it proves a Fat Slob like Mangino can have his cupcakes and eat them too. I think Missouri will beat them.

KU losing to Mizzou or OU still gets a BCS bowl.

If OU/Texas win the CCG they also get a BCS bowl.

At this point Mizzou has more to lose than any other team in the Big XII. Ku is pretty much in either way.

KU + CCG Champ make BCS bowls. KU wins out and only they go.

92 is right.... only 2 teams from the Big 12 can go, so you cant have OU (wins the Big 12 CHampionship) and KU and MU. we will get 2 teams there most likely...... and it could be any combination of the 3 right now. If OU loses this week and Texas wins..... then we prob only get 1 team in.

Its all up in the air.

I was hoping for an Alamo game against PSU... but it looks like our best shot is the Texas bowl.... we need KSU to lose so that eliminates a spot and we need 2 BIg 12 teams to go to the BCS...

I don't think it's a given that Kansas is in. If Missouri hammers them this week, I could see the pollsters dropping the gayhawks pretty far due to their schedule. Then if Missouri loses a squeaker in the CCG I could see them staying ahead of KU in the final BCS.

Agree. If KU doesn't beat Mizzou they don't deserve a BCS bowl. Up until now they haven't beat anyone of note. Their non-conference schedule should penalize them imo.
