Which Bowl might we be headed to?

Are those the only two realistic possibilities? What conferences would we be playing in those bowls most likely?

Assuming the Buffs go to one (which isn't a 100% done deal, but damn close to it), the predictions have generally been the Insight. Independence gets mentioned once in a while. Texas Bowl would probably be the crappy fallback position.

If the purple pussies lose to Fresno, or if the Big XII gets two teams in the BCS, the Buffs would clinch a bowl bid, since the Big XII couldn't fill all their bowl slots without us. Otherwise, we have to hope a bowl would pick us over KjSU, Okie Light or aTm (root for the wHorns to come back!).

You gotta believe they take us over okie light, unless they take down ou tomorrow. But you never know, but any rational bowl committee should take us based on our sos

Unfortunately, the only sos any bowl committee cares about is Sales Of Seats. Okie Light is very likely to have an edge on us in that department. Especially with so many of the lower tier bowl tie ins being in the Texas/Louisiana area.

I really think the conference has a great shot at two BCS berths, which makes the whole thing academic. If not, I'm betting we would get picked over KjSU...

any rational bowl "committee" will take a team based upon how many people will travel to the game balanced with who quailifies.

two teams with the same record. the bowl "committee" will choose the team that they believe will bring the largest contingent of fans to that game.

okie light in a texas bowl will probably bring more people than CU will. thus, CU will lose out on that chance.

just my guess. i could be wrong.

i dont think a bowl is a sure thing for the buffs. hope i am wrong....

Rational bowl committees pick teams based on how well they travel which directly translates to how much money they make.

Thanks for playing.

kjsu travels well, and in the past CU has not... I'm hopeful, but realistic

we need Fresno State to beat ksu-
that happens and one less Big 12 bowl eligible team to worry about-

Agreed.. Lets all root for FSU..

If KjSU beats Fresno State and it comes down to us and them, I can't fault a bowl picking KjSU over us.. They have scoreboard over us and they'll probably bring more fans... It would be unfortunate but I can't say it isn't fair.

That would seal the deal.

That, or two Big XII teams in the BCS. Would have been helpful if Boise could have taken out Hawaii tonight - if they steal a BCS spot, it could possibly be at the expense of the loser of the Big XII title game (or the loser of the Mizzou/KU game, who should also remain a legit contender for a BCS at-large spot the way things are going...)

Interesting shoughts. I don't think Hawaii has any draw in the BCS. They haven't really moved up in rankings, only down.

Can't blame KState being picked over us. They kicked our ass on the field. Plus, we lost to Iowa State. We had that game and blew it. We just have to hope somebody swoops in during the 12th hour and saves our butt.

Go Fresno...

Go two Big 12 teams in the BCS.

I would love a matchup with two ascending programs like Bama and CU. I would have loved to get an Illinois matchup too before we blew it against ISU.

the insight bowl is our horse. located in arizona, they know well how our fan base represents in the area, given the alumni in the area and also in cali. they will remember how well we traveled to asu this year.

it looks like we will play vs iowa.

CU will go in as the #8 seed from the Big 12. Ok-State is headed to the Independence Bowl to play Alab, So. Caro., or Miss. St. (win or lose). Plus, they're the more attractive draw for that particular Bowl.
CU will take on So. Miss. in the Texas Bowl. That Bowl will take place Dec. 29th, in Houston.

Actually- your right. I didn't catch this. We do travel well to that particular area. But then again, we have many recruits, and do well in Houston as well.
It would either be Indiana or Iowa in the Insight Bowl. Or possibly So. Miss in the Texas Bowl.

Nope! KSU has a 3-5 conf. record vs. our 4-4 ... won't happen.

Im not so sure. Remember we have an extra bowl game this year for the mNC game. KU will go to a BCS bow for sure with only one loss at this point. That leaves Missouri which still might get in even with a loss to KU. If not OU goes by winning the ccg.

I think its dicey for us to make a bowl game at best but I hope we do. It gives a few extra weeks of practice which would really be benefical for this young team.

Given the teams that have fallen Hawaii now has a shot a BCS game. I hope they make it because the last time a WAC team made a BCS bowl it was a great game. I believe each of Hawaii 3 WR have 3000 yards receiving.
