Hawk hires Bill Callahan as his offensive coordinator. Not that I can't live with Helfrich, but Cally is an offensive genius and he would now give his left and right nut to beat 'braska. I say, hire Cally and make him offensive coordinator. Of course, that is if he can't land a HC position somewhere. I think it would be a great fit. OK, time to duck for cover.

I'm wondering if you've looked over his less than impressive resume.. Not to mention he isn't the most liked person in Co... Raiders then Corn. Yuck!

Are you kidding? He RUINED the Raiders and the Corn, he should be the most beloved man in Colorado for all of eternity!!

That said, I don't want to see him ruin my Buffaloes. That playbook of his is way out of line, it took 3 seasons for his players to even start looking like they might know what their offense was supposed to look like... no sir, keep that guy away from Boulder.

:asshole:

NO ****ING WAY!!!!!

Not smoking. Drinking. I just like poetic justice. You know, Shakespeare and all that irony sh!t.

There is no poetic justice neeed here. He deserved to get canned. It's Nebraska. He ended their bowl streak and brought not one but two losing seasons in the last 30 years. I dont see him as much of an upgrade from Helfrich. Both are very good OCs.

OK, OK. You have to understand where I was coming from. I'd just driven twelve straight hours, the last hour of which I had to piss like a race horse. I then had a good, stiff bourban and coke. I can't believe I made a dumb **** post like that. Its like waking up the next morning after getting way to drunk, rolling over, and seeing an ugly skank in your bed!

Yep. Somehow I think he'll be just fine. He's a better fit for the pro game anyway (as long as it's not at head coach).

I agree, Cally is a better babysitter and offensive nerd than coach. You need a good motivator in college football, not a scheme or a fancy new gameplan.

Just look at T-Tech. Leach has a good spread throwing game, but I bet the players will say he's only inspired them to go out and get the coach some plop-plop fizz-fizz for his hangover. That's why they haven't gotten to that one game that defines their program.

Stoops is a tool, but I bet he inspires his dumbass players enough to go out and get a win even if it's just yelling and throwing his visor at them.

Mangino....yeah, he's a fatass, but he can inspire his team. KU teams under him have always played tough even when they lacked talent.

McCartney inspired his teams to win. I know it comes from his PK background, but he knew how to win and have great seasons. CJ, A-Williams, and Hagan all have nothing but good things to say about their old coach. I believe that even if we didn't win a NC under him; his former players would say nothing but good things about him.

Mangino only inspires his team in the 'Win one for me before I die' motivational tactic. i mean really, he could keel over at any time, every game could be his last!

It's kind of the same way a team rallies to win for a retiring coach or rallies for an embattled coach in his last game.

I was going to move this. But we don't have a forum for posts when you have lost your mind. So I guess it stays here.

I wouldn't want Clownahan cleaning up Ralphie's crap let alone be the OC at CU...

Callahan will succeed wherever he goes. He is a genius. He's like that kid that aces the ACT and SAT but can't really deal with people, or have a lot of common sense. Billy C is a lot like that I suspect. He just needs to be utilized correctly.

Do you really believe that? I think he's a boob and a lout -- damn am I gonna miss him on your sideline.

I have no problem with your suggestion with Callahan on the offensive side of the ball in terms of mechanics but I have a problem with his attitude and that is an attitude that I do not want on this team. I think there is a school out there that can and will use his offensive expertise but I do not want it at this school.

There is no denying that he know's the X's and O's of football but he has the personality of a shoe! I have worked around people like that. People who really think they are well liked but in reality no one wants to be around them. As you have stated, there is a team that will benifit from his Offensive Coordinator skills no doubt!
