for those that were watching on TV... did they cut away the last 6 minutes of the game if u were local Colorado?

For those of you that were at the game... what happened?

Why couldnt we have won 65-35?

I am pissed!!!!!!

I was in Iowa and saw the entire game (due to proximity to Bugeater country)

we went into prevent defense, and brought in all the younger guys. the last 16 were trash points

I was in Arizona and they cut away with about 2:30 to go. I think Hawk was hoping that if he let nu scorre a few more points, we might have gotten lucky and TO would have decided to keep Throat Slash.

I got hosed out of the last 4 minutes because I'm in Texas and they assumed we all wanted to watch the t.u./A&M game. Luckily, I signed up for BuffsTV on cubuffs.com, and you can watch the whole thing, including KOA radio feed. So I went and watched the last 4 minutes, because I was wondering how 3 more TDs were scored.

Basically, NU drove the field, throwing a bunch of underneath routes that our D was allowing, using up 2-2 1/2 minutes. They tried an onside kick and failed (kicked it out of bounds) so we took over at around the NU 40. That should have been the end of the game. Get a couple of 1st downs and game over, right? But.... Hugh carried the ball twice, and TWICE ran out of bounds. WTF?? Anyway, Hawk pulled him and put in Ellis. Ellis' 1st carry had a dump truck sized hole on the left side, and he took it to the house. CU kicked off and NU spent the last minute or so, driving for their final garbage TD (converting 4th and long, TWICE). They scored with just a few seconds left. Tried another onside kick and failed. Hawk took a knee and the fans rushed the field. End of story.

They cut away with a few minutes left, even on Denver TV. They did come back for the last minute or so, but I did miss Ellis' final TD... I think somebody at ABC screwed up big time switching the Denver station to the UT/aTm game...

They switched for about 15 secs and came back, I did see the Ellis TD.

Strange, because I was watching Channel 7 (via Directv), and definitely missed the Ellis TD. They were gone more like 5 minutes than 15 seconds on my set. I was listening to the radio audio when he scored, so I know the game was not on at that moment. Maybe the satellite feed has something to do with it???

I was watching it on regular old Comcast and saw it.

From what I remember, Hugh ran out once, then the second time he was declared to be forced out. That kept the clock running, and NU burned a timeout. I figure that was the greenlight to go ahead and put another TD on the board.

And honestly, the way Nebraska's D was playing, I think Hugh just wanted to get in the end zone one more time.

That might be true. Both times he just kept bouncing the play outside and eventually went out of bounds. On a earlier drive, he actually slid down in play, to avoid going out of bounds, but these times he didn't. No biggie. Gave another senior a chance to cap his career with a TD run. It's all good.

Hawk and staff really wanted to keep Hugh in so he could get 1,000 yards for the season but he was gassed and had to come out. From what I read it made it sound like Hugh only ran out of bounds because he was dog tired.

I was watching on DirecTV and saw the Ellis TD. Mine cut away for just a few seconds. Perhaps you were drunker than you remember? :smile2:

late garbage time prevent POS TDs.....meaningless. nothing like scoring 2 TDs and 2 2 pt conversions in the closing minutes and STILL losing by 2 TDs....

Were you watching the HD feed? I seem to remember somebody in chat that day saying that the non-HD feed of channel 7 came back more quickly than the HD feed (which is the one I was watching - didn't even think of checking the other feed...)

I actually wasn't drinking that day. Which could very easily be the problem. A mistake I don't plan to make again... :sad1:

Anybody have a name and address of the ABC (aborted Buffs coverage) programming director who was responsible for the final minute switcheroo? Next time I have some welled up anger, I'd prefer focusing it into a well worded letter to some ABC bonehead. I recognize it's a futile effort in a world run by New Yorkers trying to please Texans. But it sure beats taking it out on my family, pet, workmates, DBT, or the Cornlurkers.

After they switched my broadcast, I switched over to the 5-6 ESPN stations and other regional sports channels. That was an exersize in futility. ESPN, who last time I checked was an ABC sister company under Disney, had "no programming available" mesaages. 85KOA.com was restricted from sports broadcasting. Even my paid Yahoo sports subscrition had problems getting the audio feed. Nothing is worse than having so many technical options available, and a bunch of bootlickers screw things up!

Makes me so mad that I hope DBT gets a mild case of Montezuma's revenge on his upcoming vacation and a boot is stuck in his Cancun toilet. I hope Pelini tells Osborn to PFO and UNL hires Sonny Lubuck. URRRrrr!

I DVR'ed the game.. it switched to the UT/aTm game right after the Ellis touchdown. I don't know if they switched back because the game was long (over 4 hours and 20 minutes)that my recording was inconveniently cut short.
