As the search for your next coach continues, I hope that you all find a coach that can live up to expectations...... you know expectations like 62 and 65:lol:

Im not trying make this a thread about talking **** about the Fuskers, but why would you want to go coach there if a 9-3 season is going to get you fired (Solich)? They told Osbourne that he would have been fired if in his 3rd season or so he didnt win there bowl game. Why would you want to have a job where anything less than a national championship would put you on the coaches hot seat? (As seen by the fans and many boosters of the school)

This argument is tired, but we'll start again. Solich wasn't fired because of 9-3. It was the 6-6 the year before and a total inability to make the necessary changes that got him fired. If you'll notice, last season we made it back to the CCG, made a New Year's bowl, and BC's job was more than secure. It's the blowout losses and the fact that he had the team quit on him that got him fired. We aren't expecting a NC every year, but we do expect to be competing for the conference championship and a BCS bowl.

:yeahright:
Revisionist history.

The scuttlebutt at the time was that he was not recruiting well enough to build a championship team. Huskers don't want to admit that now, since they brought in a guy who can recruit, and look what the **** that got them.

You'll hear me admit that. He was a horrible recruiter, but an okay coach. Callahan was a great recruiter, but a horrible coach. So put this all together and what do you get? A HUGE F*&KING MESS!!!!

Hiring Pellini wasn't the necessary change?

You have heard me time and again, he isn't a bad coach, contrary, his side of the ball is very good, you guys did score 51 on us, it was his inability to recognize that a change on the defensive side of tha ball is what cost him his job. If I was coaching a college team and needed an offensive coordinator I would probably hire him in a split second.

I retract my last statement and agree with what you just said about Callahan. The problem with Callahan was he couldn't delegate authority very well and he didn't pay attention to the football team as a whole.

7-7 NOT 6-6

Yes, thank you for reminding me....................where is that bottle of Captain Morgan at???

CU has #3 and #4 on that esteemed list. Sad (for you, anyway) to think that what was the most points ever just 6 years ago is now #4, eh?

It is very sad!!!! I can say though that I want our rivalry to get back to the point where it really means something again. It would be fantastic for us to be battling for the North every season with NC aspirations.

bottom line, no **** taken by your post at all, Its still a top 10 job with top 10 facilities with a top 10 budget, and one of what 5 schools to log 400+ wins? Would you rather coach at Buffalo, Wake, Cinci or even LSU. The Solich debacle is gone, it is debatable if SP did the right thing (I did agree with it at the time, hindsight says he maybe should have been given a couple more years).

Oh...you mean that bowl that was so finely officiated? The one where the corn ran onto the field as the final play was going on? :wow: That's something to hang your corncob chapeau (hat...for you children of kNowledge) on!!:lol::lol:

Wow, all that history huh? I seem to suffer from long-term memory loss. All I have recollectioin of is 65-51... Scoreboard!!!!

Maybe when this game starts having championship implications again our smack talk will also rise to a world class level again...:smile2:
