2008 top 25

I don't see Kansas having nearly as good a year in 2008. They had the schedule gods completely on their side this year, now they gotta pay the price.

Maybe someone will realize that Reesing never throws it more than 5 yards.

I tend to agree. I still think they will be solid (8-4 or so), but a tougher schedule is going to keep them from being an elite team.

Yup. They weren't a BCS caliber team this season, but neither was Hawaii.

Three Big XII in top 7 and three SEC in top 8. Still no one talks about Big XII being one of the best conferences??? All I hear is people talk about Pac-10 and SEC come on..

If Perrilloux can stay out of trouble and on the team, they may be better than this year. That's saying alot - some people are built to self destruct.

Better than this year? Based on what? LSU won't even win the SEC West next season.

Man the Longhorns were pissed when Les came in and swiped him. :devil2:

Texas Tech at 12? Why. I don't care how good Crabapple Tree is. They have never ever ever lived up to their hype.

Their offense should be better - all of the running backs are back except for Hester. Keiland Williams, Charles Scott and the fastest man in college football - Trindon Holiday, along with Richard Murphy - big time depth. The bulk of the offensive line and receivers all return. If Ryan Perrilloux lives up to his advertising - he was Mack Brown's prize recruit until he jumped to LSU - the top rated QB - he could put up Heisman numbers. The defense loses Dorsey, but has some real studs in Ricky Jean-Francois, Tyson Jackson, and Rahim Alem. The big question is the defensive backfield. Florida is going to win the SEC next year, but LSU will finish in the Top 10 again. Miles has won at least 11 games every year he has been at LSU. He's 34 - 6, got any reasons why he won't win 10 or more?

I agree. At this point I think LSU has to be looked at much like USC. Assume they are going to win big until something happens that they don't. They have simply had too many good recruiting classes, and have too much quality depth, to assume otherwise.

I long for the day on which Miles´ gambling costs him big. Miles can be a loose cannon.

Who will beat them out of the west? Bama will still suck, Auburn turned it on late but they are inconsistent, and Arkansas will be back down without McFadden.

USC is ranked waaaaayyyy too high here. Sanchez was not impressive this year and they are losing a ton on D.

Their schedule and their QB. Perrilloux will be a fine QB in time, but next year he will not be as good as Russell and Flynn have been the last few years. Plus they get Auburn, Florida, South Carolina, and Arkansas on the road while also drawing Georgia.

Auburn.

Auburn plays seven home games next year, and their conference road schedule is:

Mississippi State
Ole Miss
Vanderbilt
Alabama

It does not get more favorable than that.

Which looks very similar to the favorable conference road schedule that LSU had this year, minus the game at Kentucky.
