I'm all for school spirit and having fun but STOP RUSHING THE DAMN FIELD after every victory. In 2006 when fans rushed the field after beating iowa state I almost puked right there.

The OU game was awesome and a good reason to do it but do we have to rush the field beating a 5-7 husker team?

Is it me being 40 and bitter or them?:smile2:

No, I agree 100%, and I am 24. I can't stand the rushing of the field after nearly every game.

Just not very classy, and it demeans the value of rushing the field when it is 'rush-worthy'.

If they keep it up then CU will figure out a way to put an end to it entirely

I rushed in 01 when we beat the ****ers and 02 when we clinched the Big 12 North against KSU. The second one was because we were really drunk. Totally agree on not rushing the field for a while.

You're mistaken, that second one was against Iowa State. I stayed in the stands for that one.

I rushed for 62-36, then again after the '04 CSU game. After all the **** those players and the program had been through in the offseason thanks to the media scandal, I felt it was plenty appropriate.

Rushed 62-36.... Have not rushed a game since. Only game since that should have been rushed was the OU game this year.

LAME PEOPLE... ITS CSU FOR GODS SAKE

I am a student and I totally agree. I say depending on how high West Va is ranked, that is rush worthy. Same goes for Texas. Thats about it. Ranked teams (top 15) is about all that a rush is worth. As long as we are not ranked higher or favored we do not rush!

No.

OU was rushworthy, the '01 NU game. I would even agree with the CSU games (Based on what our program had gone through).

WVU and UT are not rushworthy at this point.

So if WV is ranked in the top 5 and we arent ranked, you dont think that beating them, on Thursday night ESPN is rush worthy?

I don't. Why bother? It's WVA. They're not even in our conference. Rushing the field should mean something. I was kind of embarassed that it happened against NU this year. Beating them isn't any great accomplishment anymore.

:yeahthat:

Maybe if WVU is ranked Top 5... but you said Top 15...

If we are aiming to be a Top 10 team again, then the fans need to act like it.

I agree, however as of right now we are not a top 10 team, therefore beating a top 10 team is a big accomplishment. By the end of the season and the next few years, that would not be the same accomplishment.

This is a thread you will never see on any Texas Aggy board. Those play soldiers guard the field like it is covered with gold. I don't know what it is about that field. I suspect some aTm co-ed went out there one time and ended up stopping and eating the grass. So they said enough with that and ended up not letting anyone on the field any more. Instead, they said "lets celebrate by building some really, really, stupidly high bon fire." Of course, the engineering majors down there fell asleep on the job and that fine tradition is gone. Male cheerleaders, play soldiers, no going on the field, really high bon fires, .... I guess I just don't understand aTm.

I think it would be cool if the students rushed the field after the spring game! Why the hell not, CU would have won that day? It would give the students some practice for the regular season. We could even have some people teaching them the proper technique to scale the fence...IE: The two hands and swing both feet over...or the one foot on top of the rail and jump. Just floating it....

87 what do you think?

Thats actually a good idea...for the teachings, make sure you teach girls how to scale the fence while wearing skirts.

Fine - but the students have to actually go to the game.

Everytime you rush the field, you are acting like it's a complete shock our program could beat a ranked team.

RUSH THE FIELD VS TEXAS?

NO EFFING WAY, the biggest slap in the face is to NOT rush the field vs texas. They expect it and cu should start expecting to be beating ranked teams and ACT like it's not some incredible feat.

Rushing the field after beating CSU is pathetic enough. In 2005,I thought about giving some of them the people's elbow :smile2:

It did seem odd that the A&M students didn't rush the field after beating #1 OU back in '02, I think it was.

This thread makes me laugh.

And please Beet Digger, less talk about aggy. It pollutes the board.

Syko gets it.

OU this year. That was a acceptable rushing of the field.

NU..... Not so much. You can drink the tears of the NU fan sitting next to you, but don't rush the field of a 6-6 team. Got it?

Exactly. We hardly if ever rushed the field between beating NU in '89 and beating NU in '01, but it seems like since '01 we've rushed the field on the average of about once per year, most of which haven't been wins that warranted the students rushing the field.
