I'll start:

To look forward to:
1)Darrell Scott and Ray Polk
2)Watching the sunset at Folsom on a Thursday night vs WVU
3)A New Kicker
4)Our New Linebackers
5)Watching the oline come together

To Worry About
1)Youthful mistakes
2)Brutal Schedule
3)a QB controversy
4)The secondary
5)Rumors of a freaking artificial surface at Folsom.

Think in terms of a 3-Year plan.....we are golden in 2010....

I agree, this year kind of reminds me of 1992, next year will be like 1993, and 2010 will be like 1994. That was an awesome year, finished ranked #3, Miracle in Michigan, 11-1, and CU's first Heisman, a wealth of talent.:smile2:

A real shame that we did not win it all in 1994....that was a great team across the board

The CU/NU game in '94 was for it all IMO. I think had CU won they would have beaten Miami too. I also think both CU and NU could beat Penn State that year. Yep, that was a great buff team, Nebraska was the only team that was just a little better than the buffs.

Yeah you could say that...this was put up on the screen during the miracle in michigan game. :wow:

I am not against this. The artificial surface has come a long way since the carpet CU used to have. Another thing is they could use CU for more concerts and other events. Not a bad way for the AD to make some cash for our teams.

Don't get me wrong. I love the grass. But if installing a artificial surface makes the buffs more money then I'm all for it.

Agreed!! I just hope that if they do go artificial, we get creative with it and make the field something very special.

Could you imagine how friggin hot it would be in black jerseys and a black turf? Guys would be falling out left and right.

More night games!!

Anyway, the hottest any of our home games are is what, like 80 max. Black would work.

What? the bodies strewn(sp?) across the field? Or the black turf?

Heat stroke is not good pub:smile2::lol:

Dont be a dumbass:smile2:, the black turf would look cool, and Boise gets pub for having the blue turf, we would get even more

Anything for a buck - football was meant to be played on real grass and outdoors - not in a dome.
What's next - gold turf?

I think the pub BSU gets is kind of a joke. Thats the only reason anyone knew of them. At least before OU made them stars.

Absolutely. Its no secret the program is strapped for cash. Money isn't a bad thing to have. When money isn't the issue then we could bring back some of the programs we axed because we couldn't afford to keep them running.

Plus how cool would it be to see your favorite bands play in folsom.

FieldTurf

I love the grass at Folsom. But if we can't afford to keep our other programs operating at an acceptable level then i think we should get rid of it. Maintaining that field has been very pricy for the athletic dept. I think when people think of artificial turf they think of the carpet CU had in the nineties. Now they have FieldTurf. http://www.fieldturf.com/product/overview.cfm

I don't know about having black or gold turf like some people joked about earlier:lol: But this isn't a bad thing.

Here is a list of pro and college teams who use fieldturf
Atlanta Falcons
Boston College Eagles
Cincinnati Bengals
Cleveland Browns
Denver Broncos (Practice Facility)
Detroit Lions
Georgia Bulldogs(Practice Facility)
Green Bay Packers(Practice Facility)
Kansas State Wildcats
Michigan Wolverines
Nebraska Cornhuskers
New England Patriots
Ohio State Buckeyes
Oregon Ducks
Missouri Tigers
Wisconsin Badgers

One of the programs I hated to see go was the baseball program, but I really doubt you could fund a team with just the money you would save by going turf. There are enough fake and phony things in our world already. Field conditions and weather conditions are a part of the game, and they should always remain important.

I never said that you could fund a team with by just switching to turf. But I think its a start.

When this program can run at the level to compete with the rest of the Big 12 then we can worry about grass or turf.

Back to the original topic, I'll add a few more:

Looking forward to:
- continued improvement of the WRs into full on playmakers (especially looking forward to seeing Simas play for the first time).
- seeing Coach Cabral work with the new LBs
- seeing DScott take his first one to the house!

Things to worry about:
- Place kicking. Never know how the new kickers are going to do under game pressure.
- blitz pickup by the RBs. There was a reason that Ellis was in the game a lot on 3rd down...dude was a blitz picking up madman! Saved CHawk's bacon on more than a few occasions.

Doesn't the NCAA have a new rule in place not allowing turf color to be anything other than green? So when Boise St. has to replace their turf i believe they have to switch back to green.

Ok dumbass...try this. Wait for a nice 80 degree day, put on 20+ lbs. of football gear, go out in the street and run a 40 every 45 seconds for 3 + hours. That black turf idea will go back to where it came from. :wow:

Gold turf? Black turf? Man, you guys have no creativity.

What we REALLY need is platinum white turf with a giant airbrushed image of Ronald Reagan's head on it (preferably one that stretches from end zone to end zone), and maybe he could be smoking a pipe and whenever the Buffs scored points the pipe would spew out a bunch of steam. Also, Chip should be changed into a unicorn and the cheerleaders should throw sausages into the crowd after touchdowns.

I don't know what the NCAA's problem is, improving college football is EASY.
