This is what D-Lineman should look like

I am actually really excited about the potential for our D-line this year, it could be the best we have had in years. Hopeuffly Mo Lucas plays to his potential finally. But seeing these pictures reminds me of guys like Al Williams, Joel Steed, Darius Holland, etc.

Mo Lucas

Mo Lucas' parents come to dance at the club I work part time at....very nice people and very excited and shocked I knew who their son is. It helps that he and I graduated from the same HS...

It is nice to see though. We might have the best pair of DTs in the entire conference. Think about the last time a Buffs fan was able to say that. Now it's on the DEs to create some pressure on the outside.

lucas has always looked like a guy with nfl potential. now he needs to play like a guy who is going into the draft.

if he has a big year to compliment nicholas and hypo inside, then maybe our issues at lb won't be as significant. also, the dl need to get to the qb more than last year--- it would sure help our secondary out.

With our tackles getting double teamed all game the DEs need to be able the beat the single blocker. This is a great situation to be in usually but it hasn't happened much recently.

Put Obi on the blindside of the QB and he will crack skulls, the kid has all the tools to be an all american.

No offense, but people have been saying the same thing about Mo Lucas for a while now. I would wait for Obi to prove it on the field before you start making All-American proclamations.

Man I hope so, with our tackles the DEs wil be in perfect position to have monster years. Very similar to what Paul Smith did for Lyle Alzado on the Broncos.

Those are a good looking bunch of DTs. I think we have enough talent to compete in the Big XII again. This should be a fun season.

Yup. Mo has all the tools, too. But he's gotta show it on the field now...

Definitely looking forward to your thread titled 'This is how D1 DE's play' this fall.

i was going to go with the greg kragen to rulon jones comparison...but yours works too!

Best quote of the Recruiting Lunch last year is when Hawkins was referring to Alfred Williams and said that each coach was going to be sent out with a cardboard cutout of Alfred and if the DL recruit measured up, he got a scholarship. Alfred was beast and we are on our way to getting those kind of players again.

I was reading somewheres that Goree was lighting it up this spring. The article also said they were working Goree in the middle with Hypolite on the outside and a blitzing LB. This was designed to take the double team off of Hypo and free him up to get after the QB.

It is refreshing to not have to be concerned about our DL.

Now, about those LBs and DBs...

I might be crazy, but I'm not concerned about the LB's and safeties. I am concerned about the corners. If the front four can get good pressure, the corners will look a lot better.

I'm gonna have to call you crazy if you aren't concerned about the safeties. It's basically Walters and that's about it. No real depth (at least proven depth) either. When Walters was out last year, we got torched. If he goes down, it could get ugly.

Unfortunately with Walters, it's a matter of when, not if with the way he throws his body around.

Unfortunately, that is pretty true. I am just not real confident in the group we have at safety right now. Hope I am proven wrong.
