CU football player arrested

you've got to be ****ing kidding me...

?!?!?!?!!!!!!! At least it's trespassing and not assualt. Still, just not good news about the program - I don't like...

What a surprise that 9 News is the first reporting this.....

Something must have gotten into the water up here recently.....

So the link has been updated and he has been dismissed from the team. Pretty surprising.

If no one else moves around us, this would put us in a tie for third.

edit: Looks like we are safely in third.

some of those in the processing station are just amusing as all get out.

question: what happened to A&M? they had a rather juicy story in the processing station, but they have not shown up on either 2007 or 2008. do they get a pass?

if so, a very great premise just got ruined.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.....................WHAT IN THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THE BIG XII THIS OFF-SEASON! I don't get it..........:wow:

Two thoughts.....why did Katoa and Geer get different treatment (suspensions vs dismissal)?

Considering that five guys have been busted by the cops, how many are out there screwing around and are not getting caught? You would have to guess that many more are not getting caught....

Ugh. Anyone know someone that can walk on this year? It feels like that's how short our LB bench is getting.

I work with a guy who is real close to Jake and his family. This will be devistating for Jake's parents. His dad loved to watch him play. Imagine how hard it is for his dad. From what I am told, he is a very good kid.

I also have to wonder why he was released. This is the first time that I might call bull**** on Hawk. Of course, saying that, I don't know the entire story. Jake was held out of one of the first spring scrimmages a few weeks ago. If he was being disciplined for a completely unrelated incident and then went out and got in trouble again, maybe the release is justified. But if he was released just for this, then it is bull****.

Is it BS, or is it Hawk trying to regain control of the team? This shyte has to stop NOW with these guys.

I hope Jake can learn from this experience and grow as a person.

Now I'm hearing rumors that he has not been kicked off the team. I guess we just wait and see.

Read the buffzone article. He was already in trouble for something unrelated.

Dallas,

As I posted on Buffzone (as walto):

Coach Hawkins must walk the line between looking these players and their parents in the eye and make them understand that he'll serve as their advocate AND make those same players understand the cruel world of consequences (and run a whole dang team).

In the case of Geer and Katoa (still not a lot of facts out there) it sounds as though there were some mitigating circumstances which muddied the waters. Was it self-defense? Who hit whom...etc...

In the case of Duren, those mitigating circumstances appear to be absent, at least on the surface.

Raising hell is one thing. Getting piss drunk and breaking and stealing other people's property crosses a line, in my opinon.

And while I believe the Coach probably handles these things on a case-by-case, you gotta believe at one point he said, "if anybody, henceforth, has an alcohol related incident, you're off the team..."

Finally, as other's already noted, it sounds as though he might have already been on double-secret probation.

Is it really that hard to keep out of trouble? I'm sure everybody raised their share of h*** during their time at CU, but come on...
