Clete Blakeman...SEE YA!!!

Memo to Big 12: Can we find a replacement who didn't play for one of the Big 12 schools ? Thank You.

Wasn't this the guy who blew the calls at the end of the ISU game ?

Good riddance..

he altered the course of a few games with a thinly veiled homerism.

Notice how that column talks about his last three games, but conveniently omits the game right before that? The one he personally screwed up?

sacky, if it makes you feel better, he was effing up the b12 cg, taking out his issues with okie (i surmise for busting up a #1 nu when he was playing there).

by halftime, it appeared as if the other officials "circled the waggons" so to speak to make it blatantly less anti-ou. that, or they had some direct words with him.

when everyone else in stripes has to do double duty to minimize the effect of your directed incompetency, its time to move on.

The bucket of turds will probably continue his Noobreska favoritism in the NFL and call plays in favor of any team with cornholers on the roster.

They knew that would be a good place to put him. The chances of finding 'holers in the NFL are getting pretty scarce.

Adios Cletus, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Its a pity that the Big 12 doesn't see the problem with having officials with a stake in the outcome of the game they are officiating. Clete Bakeman isn't the only guy from Nebraska who has called CU games. For several years in the mid-late 90's a guy from Omaha was on the crew for the CU-NU game, and every year there would be a couple of really strange offensive pass interference calls against CU. But nobody did anything.

Thank God. I'd rather have him screwing the Broncos than the Buffs... though to be perfectly honest I'd prefer to just see him getting bludgeoned with a sack of russet potatoes.

I think 2 or 3 cokes in a pillowcase work much better for bludgeoning. This guy definately deserves it.

I'd rather see him officiating water polo in the bermuda triangle.

Yeah, perhaps he should pick up Great White shark feeding without a cage as a hobby.

I mean it wasnt all his fault, the Buffs should not have ever let the Clones get back in the game, and DH should not have ever went for it on that famous 4th down, but this prick certainly didnt help and the Buffs were not only up against the Clones but against a freaking ref!!

I was so ticked after that game, for all the reasons you mention and then to get screwed on 2 good 50 yd kicks. Especially to iowa state, that tornado the buffs played in 2005 was a game cu should have won.I hope we hang 60 on them this year.

Agreed. I hope we blow OUT the clone, lammies, fradyKats, and fuskers.

:yeahthat:

Cheat Blakeman, NFL referee??? :wow::wow::wow: Memo to Green Bay - if you're going to send Mason out for a game winning kick this year, you might want to do it at the 2 minute warning, just to be safe from this sack of ****... :sad2:

Blakeman's last season as a player was 1987. He backed up Steve Taylor on a Nebraska team that was ranked No. 1 nationally before a November loss to Oklahoma.
I had to laugh at that in bold ^^^ That was the same choke story every.single.year until Tommy Frazier came to town:
"Nebraska was #1 until a November loss to ___(insert team here)__."

I SO love that McCartney won a national championship before Osborne.

the way the guy ran the game, especially at the end of the regulation. It was just not becoming of a B12 ref. Yes, the Buffs had their chances to win it without relying on the refs. But, they also TIED the game with the refs' collective heads up their arses, and Clete was the head arse.

Honestly, Blakeman's behavior clearly gave people the direct opportunity to question his ability to officiate games free from bias. He actually officiated at least one game involving the University of Nebraska. No one with a lick of sense or self-respect would expose themselves as having such poor judgment. As I wrote on another board, it would be like me umpiring home plate in a fastpitch game when my daughter was pitching.

Blakeman clearly did not follow the rules of the clock at the end of the ISU game last year. He also called at least one chop block penalty on Cody Hawkins during a long gain play that was brought back plus the 15 yard penalty. The ISU defender just jumped over Cody Hawkins after Hawkins dove in front of the defender's feet and never touched the guy. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe he may have called another chop block against Colorado that I did not see.

Blakeman apparently became an embarrassment to the Big 12 for several reasons and they needed to get rid of him. The No Fun League is the perfect place for him. He is out of college football.
