It's not Football, but 'Jeopardy' is kind of like a sport ...

A guy from CU was on the Jeopardy! College Tournament this past week in Madison, WI.

His name is Than Hedman, he was wearing a very cool Buffs sweatshirt, and was rocking along ... leading with $18,200 going into Final Jeopardy. He couldda bet zero and made it as an at-large contestant in the finals next week. But instead he bet about $9k and lost. The question was about an ancient quote: "He said, 'I love treason, but I hate the treasonous.'" Than and the Harvard guy guessed Cicero. The Michigan State girl got it right - Julius Caesar.

That's Than in the middle playing cards in the green room.

He majors in chemistry but wants to start a hip-hop label (no joke). Go here to see his video interview: http://www.jeopardy.com/mini_sites/collegechamps_s24/gamematchups/

Too bad he lost, my DirecTV went out in the middle of Double Jeopardy and I ended up missing Final Jeopardy.

He kicked ass except for the final jeopardy question. Too bad. He made the dude from Harvard look like an idot.

CONNERY: "That is a beautiful suit, Trebek."
TREBEK: "Thank you, Sean."
CONNERY: "Really, that is an excellent garment, a fine suit of clothes."
TREBEK: "That's very kind, thank you Mr. Connery."
CONNERY: "Tell me, Trebek .."
TREBEK: "Yes?"
CONNERY: "Do they make that suit for men?"

Connery: I'll take famous titties for $1,000 Trebek.

Trebek: That's famous titles

Connery: DOLLY PARTON!!!

Connery: I'll take Jap Anus Relations for $1,200.

Trebek: That's "Japan/US relations".

I know, that cracked me up. The guy majors in Chemistry at an elite university, and he's actually in the lead on Jeopardy when Alex starts the interview, "I want to start a hip-hop label with my brother." Oh, brother

I am pretty sure that is the younger brother of my friend. His brother is quote talented and goes by b.heded. You can check his stuff out on myspace i think. He hasn't not done any shows or new songs (to my knowledge) lately because he was going to focus on schools.

I didn't know he had a younger brother to tell you the truth. I have been to almost every one of his older brother's shows except one, maybe two.

87, you might like his stuff. I think it is quite intelligent and he creates his own beats. Let me know what you think of him.

Couldn't find any b.heded or heded or beheded, so I dunno. I don't have a myspace account so maybe that didn't let it show up on the search?? or something i dunno. I'll listen if you can find it.

EDIT: nevermind, i found him.

Found six of his tracks on Soundclick, he is very very talented. Has a quick fluid flow, some great multies and inside rhymes, solid subject matter and "story" type raps, which is very refreshing to hear. Tell him you just got him a new fan.

My only problem is that he did a freestyle over Royce Da 5'9"'s "Boom" beat (by DJ Premier), which to me, is unacceptable (just because I think it is the perfect song) but that's just me being picky :wink2:.

PM coming your way. And a rep. also.
