Ivan Maisel article on Hawk and Baby Hawk

Cool...the article is "flashing" on the front page of ESPN.com....

CU is getting and should get even more publicity this year. I'm sure there will be a few articles and pics with DS running into the endzone. Things are looking up.

As they should....this is long over due......

One thing I know for a fact is that both father and son have had to scratch, claw and bleed for this program, and will continue to do so. We are in good hands!

Anyone catch the last paragraph? Coach Hawk said that Cody wants to be a Graduate assistant when he's done. This is why there won't be a quarterback controversy at CU. Cody has seen the hand writing on the wall and accepted that his future is not in the NFL as a qb so he's already laying the ground work for his new career - a coach. The significance of this is that, although Cody is the starter and loves playing QB, he has come to terms with it in himself that Qb is not a role he will get to play forever. So when someone starts to out perform him and is lighting defenses up I don't think he will struggle letting go of the starting spot since he knows that it was not something he was going to get to keep anyway. Best of all you know that if that happens while he's at CU he's going to use the rest of his time at CU practicing his next career and coaching the rest of the Qb's. WIN WIN!

We really lucked out when we got Cody - a competent and very smart Qb who will improve the program whether it's on the field as a player or off it as a quasi qb coach. Damn I really like this kid!! :gobuffs:

Yes... Hawk's done wonders on the PR side of things. Next up w/l %. I think it's coming too.

well that better be coming (the w/l%) that defiantly is going up but must continue to get better to keep the fans happy. i think it will be a lot better in 09 season. not sure it will be much better this year
