Boulder police have arrested two former University of Colorado football players in connection with a June 5 armed robbery on University Hill.

Bernard Jackson, CU's 2006 starting quarterback, and former safety Lionel Harris, both 23, are being held on suspicion of first-degree burglary, aggravated robbery and felony menacing, police said. Both are being held on a $250,000 bond.

Very sad. How desperate must they have been tod o this? Especially Bernard since his kid as some type of cancer....

stupidheads....

Does this put us in the fulmer cup lead?

The robbery, which took plack in an apartment in the 1000 block of University Avenue, remains under investigation, and police said additional arrests are possible.

Shame shame shame.

This one hurts. BJax came off as so very classy following the 2006 QB transition. He has maintained such a positive public face through all of his personal trials and tribulations at CU. This one is a complete surprise. There are very few crimes more deplorable than armed robbery.

Wow. :sad1:

:yeahthat:

What the hell were they thinking?:sad1:

What's especially concerning is the implication that this may be part of a whole series of these kind of incidents, and that they were somehow targeting their victims. Have to wonder what the bigger story is.

I don't know, I'm pretty sure I could come up with at least 100 if I put some effort into it. That's not likely to happen, though :smile2:

Yeah, yeah, yeah. 2 counts of armed robbery, 3 counts, 4 counts...
Thing is armed robbery is >< this close to capital murder.

I hope everybody remembers that we are dealing with the boulder police here. It seems likely that they are guilty, since I'm not sure what police screw up would get you charged with armed robbery, but bpd are quite capable of making big mistakes.

Yep. Innocent until proven guilty by a jury based on evidence presented during the trial.

:pissed3:

Well, this pisses me off. And you know why? My daughter lives a block away from where that happened. The thought of a couple of assholes with guns that close to my daughter......... damn! I've got now sympathy for these two pricks.

Yep, me too. I would mess BJax up though.

Sad? Tragic? Please people, losing a child is tragic or having a loved one die is sad but two dip****s robbing someone at gunpoint?

They are both idiots and they deserve what they get.

Definitely sad, especially considering all that BJax has gone thru and everyone was feeling real bad for him at one point.

Okay, this is what I don't get. Neither is currently enrolled nor attended school. So, why are they still around the Boulder area? Seems like BJax wudda headed back home where he'd have family to help out with the kiddo. And Harris....

If someone has some insight, please fill me in.

Gotta love the alternating images on the 9 news site. Sigh...

Yeah, that really makes no sense whatsoever... though if they were trying to pay rent on the hill that'd certainly provide a motive for their crime(s)

It's always sad to see a young kid throw his life away. Especially Bernard being a father and all.

When it comes to stupid, this one is hard to beat. If they are found guilty, they should both spend some serious time in prison.

Agreed. Whoever did this, ought to spend some time in the pokey. If BJax was involved, it's especially sad to see someone who God gifted with so much talent, throw it away like that. Like Valdez said, it's always sad to see a young life wasted.

Or leave a child to grow up with a parent in jail. :sad2:

In legal terms this is all hearsay, but one of my roommates said his friend was sleeping on the on the couch in a house on the hill and he woke up to two "huge black guys" robbing them. He told me this about a week ago and its sad to see who got arrested for a crime like this. I don't know if they were the people who robbed my roommates friend but there is a chance.

I don't know if diversity on the Boulder campus has taken a turn for the better since I graduated, but when I was in school the field of huge black guys (or any black guys for that matter) on the hill on any given night was pretty damn slim.

Kinda like the two black guys who raped the girl and turned out NOT to be CU football players?

And in legal terms that is all speculation. I know this media report sounds pretty damning, but that is the job of the media especially if it pertains to CU. Let's wait to see how it plays out.
