I am offically tired of waiting fo the season to start. I would like to drum up a little honest to goodness CFB talk. Since 'lil bro is our first oppnent, we might as well start there.

Does anybody know anything about the new QB Billy Ferris Bueller? Will Grant Stucker play?

How is Sperry's knee? Is he fully recovered? As far as I am concerned he's really the only offensive threat the sheep have. Kyle Bell is hell on the Mtn. Weenie Division, but no so much against anybody else.

Does CSU still play D? The lost the unblockable one and both CB's so I can't imagine they are going to be any better on D.

Thoughts?

Anything less than a 10+ win and I'm going to be pissed. Aside form the on the field personnel, they have a whole new coaching staff which is always a dicey situation. They will come out playing like their hair is on fire like they always do and the Buffs need to weather that and get on with the ass kicking.

Is it me, or does it always seem like there are like 10 players on the csu team that are the Quinn Sypnewski college plan? Seems like Bell, Sperry and Morton have been there since the late 90s

Haven't we already determined that Sperry will most likely not play against us due to some obscure rule about not playing the same team more than 4 times? I don't have any cites, I just seem to remember a conversation about this at one point.

We should win this game by a bunch. If we don't, I'm gonna be pretty pissed. Their strengths (running the ball) play right into our strengths. Force Farris to beat us and this game shouldn't be close.

I think you're not giving Kyle Bell enough credit though. I'm not sure he would have the same yardage in the Big 12, but he is a tough runner. Carrying it 40 times in the first game back from an ACL tear is pretty damn tough. Sperry is clearly their best player. He absolutely schooled Jones last year. I'm not sure how well he will do in his first game back, but I wouldn't be surprised if he has a huge game.

As far as the Rams defense, I don't see much. Inexperience on the d-line and at cornerback. We should put a bunch of points on the board.

I've seen nothing concrete that he will not play against us. Like you I've seen this stated on the intraweb many times, but no one can site a case of this happening or site the rule. I'm assuming Sperry is playing.

I just googled it and can't find it anywhere. Who knows.

So, your little brother is rightyram?

Sperry is their best player. Beyond that, they don't have much. Pretty much every reliable receiver they had graduated. Bell has heart, but I still don't think he's all that. Can you think of one BCS team he would start for? Maybe Syracuse or Baylor, beyond that....

Farris is an unknown. Although I heard he can sing "Twist and Shout", but he's not so much on the clarinet.

I think their D will be worse. We should run all over them. It will be close for a quarter or so because nothing gets the goat going like their superbowl. The second half should be walk in the park time....

My solution to Sperry

This should be the first year in awhile that we absoulutely kick their @$$. I agree if we don't I'm going to be more than pissed-and maybe a little worried we aren't as good as we hope to be.

Go Buffs!

Nice first post, welcome.

Now grab me a beer

We really need to hit the ground running (Scott). With the rest of our sched. we need to start strong or the whole pre season could go a little sideways

I doubt DS will see the field against GoatU. He is looking at a big leap from HS to D1.

He will see quite a few carries. I don't think he will be starting that game, but you will definitely see him on the field, barring injury.

nawwwwhhhh. he will see the field. probably. depends on how he picks up the playbook, assignments ect. i dont imagine seeing him in on any passing downs, though.

i am quite sure our last all world running back recruit saw the field in the first game of his college career and did rather well, if memory serves.

DS will see the field, maybe not on passing downs in the first quarter, after that it should not be very close. CSU's starting O-line is light averaging 300 lbs. with 2 players in the 280's according to their "spring prospectus" and their D-line is going to get destroyed by our O-line, their starting D-line averages 267 lbs. Our O-Line is not huge according to the depth chart, yet, but if Solder gets to 300 like he thinks he can, and Fataagi starts as expected, that will be 4 starters over 300 lbs. If MTM can win one of the guard jobs our average O-Line weight could be around 315, with MTM at 310, Girthy 325, Miller 320, Solder 300, and Fataagi 320. If that is what our line looks like they will be a tough line for opposing defenses to deal with, especially in the running game. I don't feel like looking the stat up but their was a stat somewhere that when CU ran the ball 30? or more times Cody has 11? TDs and 3? INTs, and when we didn't run it 30 times he had 11? TDs and 14? INTs.

Hey fat....sorry but he is the next Peterson...he will play and he will be great. Wait and see

Scott will see some PT vs the lammies. Sumler will get the start.

Don't sleep on Ray Ray. If he doesn't RS he might be the biggest suprise of the year. And i hope Hawk doesn't RS Rodney Stewart. I want to see this kid on ST's.

I know Darrell Scott is phenomenal prospect, but I get wary of comparisons like this. Adrian Peterson is an absolute freak of nature, probably the best RB prospect of the last decade. It would take a lot for Scott to live up to those expectations.
