My dad and I are heading down to College Station for the A&M game and we are trying to find a hotel with either good experiences for Buff fans or the same hotel that any of you heading to the game will be at.

Think about contacting the Alumni Association to find out about the team hotel. Maybe the Omni or something. I'm pretty sure the Texas chapters will be putting on a big event for CU fans. You are smart to plan early.

Hotel rooms fill up pretty fast on football weekends. One year the pickings were pretty thin by the time we booked and thus we ended up at one of those 'don't sleep with your mouth open' motels that was less than swank.

after peeking in at expedia, the only chain allowing single night stays is the hyatt place college station.

As an alternative to getting gouged by the Aggie multi-day hotel booking policies, you might consider booking in Houston. Check out NASA. Or if you are flying into Austin, check out the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort.

This puts a little more distance between you and the Aggies, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Why in God's name would you want to visit collie station?

as part of a big xii tour, for one reason. as a statement of support to our buffs, for another. some lucky few even live proximate to the venue. it is a right real handy way to see ther buffs after moving out of colorado.

And the third reason...there is no third reason. LB's covered all the bases.

 i was looking for the silver lining.

the advice to look at proximate cities (austin, houston, round rock) is a very valid one. expect between a 2-4 hour drive on game day, each way.

i have found that the fairfield inn in temple has a queen bed room including breakfast for a price that is reasonable. use the marriott website to locate it and book it, if that is your intention. do so quickly. the game day commute from temple will be about 1.5 hours - 2 hours.

are there dfw people who are interested in a carpool? or anyone who wants to fly in to dfw and get shuttled down for the game? if so, now is the time to start talking about it.

ya going, skiddy?

Nope. It falls on my kiddo's 6th B-Day party. (So much for planned parenthood).

I could force the issue, but I've got other targets this season.

No tour points, as I've been to every game CU has ever played in Colly Station. And quite frankly, even in victory, the Aggie experience wierds me out.

A golf course surrounds the main drive up to campus. Could you imagine the Norlin Quad turned into 9-holes?
The George HW Bush Presidential Library. Yeah Desert Storm! Boo Puking on the Japanese PM.

IMO their tradition has many an ass hole so puckered up, it's hard to imagine that any Aggie is having any fun. It's like being sent back to the Eisenhour 1950's with the crew cuts and cement monstrosity that is Kyle Field. The visitor seats suck, BTW. Far SE corner just behind the end of the endzone, right by the canon that is fired after every score.

Thank goodness the CU fans come out in force to Planet Aggie. That's the bright spot!

Don't leave out the mascot burial ground with mini-scoreboards for the dead dogs.

Oh, and the fake army "corps" who think they're actually in the military.

 96, you are reinforcing the fact that they are kinda weird. still, it needs to be witnessed.

that was LB posting as me again....

and 96, lets not forget you cannot walk on the grass either......
