Nebraska beat CU by this much??

He forgot the part where Darrell Scott runs for 150 yards and scores 3 touchdowns against their paper thin defense.

I think that I'll just highlight the part about the CU game, right click, and save until the Saturday after thanksgiving and repeatedly email it to him.

First off the guy has us going 9-3 which is delusional at best. I see us going at most 8-4 with losses to VT, MU, TT, & OU, possibly 7-5 with a loss to CU because I think that game will be very close this year since we are at home. I think that TT game is going to be another 70 to 10 game unfortunately because that team is dangerous this year and the more and more I hear about them the more worried that I am. The fact that he has us beating VT by so much shows that he is smoking something that is laced with something. I am predicting 7-5 with 8-4 a possibility based on what happens with the CU game. The VT game will be fairly close, but MU, TT, & OU will be blowouts! It's an improvement and that's all I'm looking for this season, not a Big XII Championship birth, or a decent bowl game birth. I would take any bowl and an improvement this season.

The VT came could be close since apparently they have no WR's and no RB's and crappy QBs.

But I accept your analysis (the 7-5 with loss to CU one) :smile2:

Tyrod Taylor is going to give their defense fits all game.

Also, Western Michigan beat Iowa late in the year in what I think was their Senior Day. So NU better be ready for that game unless they want a repeat of Ball St. Oh and just because the fans and coaches are "jacked," doesn't mean you're going to win.

Also, Iowa had won 32 out of the previous 38 home games before losing to Western Michigan.

And Texas Tech will not be close. The guy is delusional to think otherwise.

This guy obviously is a homer. The one game that the NU faithful are completely overlooking is Western Michigan. This game has the makings of Montana State written all over it. I love how everywhere I read, it is Western Michigan can be tough, but the players and crowd will be so jacked up that it won't matter. Emotion only gets you through the first few snaps than the game of football takes over. Personally I prefer the Hawk's approach of minimize the emotional highs and lows and maintain an even keel. WMU is extremely dangerous, they return their entire D, most of their O and beat Iowa in Iowa at the end of last season. There is also the whole new coaching staff thing NU will be dealing with as well. WMU is actually ranked ahead of Nebraska overall and in most improved teams by Phil Steele. The Pelini era is highly likely to start with a whimper as opposed to a bang. My prediction is if NU wins this game, they go bowling. If they don't they won't.

Yeah, but the coach is BO, who knows football, who knows defense, who will bring back the blackshirts in no less than six months.

Seven sacks? I don't even know what to say about that. Did I read that wrong (I'm not going back). Seven sacks.

This doooooooshe (did I do that correctly?) knows that Pelini's the Head Coach and not the DC right? His credibility was strained when he expressed his delight at Watson's return to the staff.

Keeee-rist!

I applaud your realistic expectations. I don't think that Nebraska fans realize how tough things are going to be this year. As much as the players hated Callahan and love Pellini, having a bad coach teaches you a lot of bad habits, and players don't like being broken of bad habits. I'm also not sure that there is as much talent in Lincoln as people seem to think. After Solich's last bunch of guys graduated (Carreker and friends) is when the defense really fell off a cliff. That gives me the impression that while cosgrove was an idiot he wasn't the main problem.

Of course, I'm viewing this through the prism of what we went through after getting rid of Barnett, and we obviously had different problems then you guys. But really changing the bad culture left behind by a bad coach isn't a one year process. For the sake of the conference I hope CU and NU both make it all the way back, but its a new day. We might get stuck watching MU-KU after Thanksgiving if both programs don't make it back.

Well, seeing as the season will be over in six months, it will be a little too late for this year.:smile2:

Your definately right about the fact that this season could get ugly and fast! I don't think we have a powderpuff schedule, because of the Big XII Teams, but the first three games could still go either way even though they are so called, "easy teams." As we seen last season anything could happen and nothing is a for sure win anymore. The defense and how they respond to things is going to be key for this season. I'm not too worried about the offense and I have a feeling that we are going to not be so balanced and be a little run heavy again, which is fine given our running back situation. The good thing about Bo's coaching ability is that even when he doesn't have the talent there he attempts to create a scheme that will help the kids out so their shortfalls aren't as bad. I'm fairly confident that our defense will get much better, but it's going to take a few years before we break into the Top 10 defenses in the country. I've said it numerous times and I'll say it again, championships are won in the trenches, defensive line and offensive line, and we just don't have the talent there to get it done for a few more years. Once we start getting the recruiting going in the right direction again we'll be competitive for the North, but we are a few years back from CU in that respect which is why I have a feeling we will lose this game this season, but who knows.

As funny as the predictions themselves are his statement that he's cautiously optimistic, then has NU crushing everyone not rated in the top ten. To paraphrase Inigo Montoya, I don't think those words mean, what he thinks they mean!

Honestly.. I can't waiit till CU and NE are back on top of the 12 North.... I hate seeing missou up there... and kansas..?? ... lol. All i can say is that i wouldn't be dissapointed to see the Huskers win every game till US. I LOVE being able to be the team who spoils dreams. I.E. 2001. .. muhaha.

i am getting to the point where i do not care if they exist until the day they play the buffs.

As far as I'm concerned the Fuskers can lose every game they play and give up 70 per while doing it. Then they can give up 80 to CU. I hope they never get back to the top of the North. As cyclicle as things are in sports I'm sure one day they will, but man do I love it when they get their asses kicked.

Go Buffs!

:yeahthat:

Die fuskers die. And be quick about it.

What a dreamer!

And not just the game against the Buffs either....this guy is in fantasyland.

GAME TEN: Nebraska 31, Kansas 13
The Huskers need a late season push to get no worse than a decent bowl game. No better way than to have a game they’ve waited for over a year.

Buoyed by a frenzied crowd, the Blackshirts force four turnovers, sack Kansas quarterback Todd Reesing six times and pressure him several more times. The Huskers cling to a 17-13 lead late in the fourth quarter before two Marlon Lucky rushing TDs close the door on KU. Revenge. How sweet it is!

GAME ELEVEN: Nebraska 20, K-State 10
Josh Freeman text messages Bo Pelini and says, “You mean we couldn’t beat you guys last year when you sucked.” Bo text messages him back and says, “I got your five stars hangin’”

The emotionally spent Huskers go to the Little Apple for a dreaded “trap game.” It’s not pretty but the Big Red takes care of business nonetheless. The Huskers, who force three turnovers, lead 13-3 as Rickey Thenarse returns a fumble 78 yards to paydirt. The Wildcats pull within 13-10 before Roy Helu’s 3-yard TD run gives the Big Red breathing room early in the fourth quarter.
Kansas has given the Huskers big trouble the last few years, 40 - 15 in 2005, lost in Stinklon, overtime in 2006, and reamed them a new a$$hole last year 76 - 39. KSU with the exception of the last 2 years has done the same.
There is no chance for this year's team to beat KU, KSU, and CU in a row.
They will go to some Chicken $hit bowl - big deal Big Red!
