Man, I was reading 'Huskerpedia' this afternoon looking at their 'predictions' for next year until I yacked all over my computer. :puke: 75% of those guys think Nebraska will win 9-10 games. I love to think that the Buffs can win 10 games, but I'm putting my money on 7. I mean, they have a new HC, and they just assume he is going to wave a wand and ... BAMMM ... 10 wins. There are about 100 posts on how Bo Pelini is God's gift to football. If I were FatHead I would start making 'Bo Pelini'--they would make a killing. I stopped reading after they started bringing up 1978. Anyway, I like to think that Buff fans are by and large more reasonable than the Corn. (End mindless rant.)

Go over and keep tell them you think 9-10 wins is totally do able its awesome to watch. Even more awesome will be when they win 6 or 7 and they think their season is a total failure.

Haha...I would except they charge $23 to join that crappy site.

That's just a facade that they put on to try to fool others and themselves. Nebraska is just an empty shell of the program it was years ago. I live in KC and can tell you that KU, MU, and KSU no longer think it's any big deal to beat Nebraska. They are just another bump in the road, and nothing to worry about. Truth is they have no idea what is going to happen with Pelini. I haven't seen one poll that has them rated in the top 25. The Nebraska football program is a dead horse that ain't goin nowhere.

8 wins at the most is what I see with 7 being more realistic.

I think you can get to 10 easily, the first half of your schedule is cream puff land and your only two tough road games are Tech and OU.

I wouldn't get to worked up over what you read over there. There is a lot of hope that Bo will get things turned around and some are a tad too optimistic in wanting to see immediate results. Its going to take time, personally i feel a 7 win season would be nice and show improvement.

Keep in mind that nearly 50% of the people on this board thought CU would win the Big 12 last year even after the 2-10 previous season. http://www.allbuffs.com/forums/poll.php?do=showresults&pollid=469

Enthusiasm and optimism run a little wild this time of year.

First year coach, who has never been HC before.

Western Michigan game will be a lot closer then fusker fans will like.

This is how I see them this year.

Western Mich. W (Barely)
San Jose St. W
New Mexico St. W
Virginia Tech W

By now there will be Big 12 championship talk on huskerpedia.

Missouri L
@ Texas Tech L

Uh oh, fuskerpedia talk gets a little negative

Baylor W
@ Oklahoma L
Kansas L
@ Kansas St L (I would give them the W if this wasn't on the road.)
Colorado L

After four straight losses huskerpedia will be great fun to read.

Hard to get too worked up about this. I remember people on this board (and others) who thought that Hawk & Co would come in and the Buffs would put up 60 points per game and win big his first year.

Nobody has a losing record this time of year and everyone believes that their team has a shot at a MNC. It's all about being a fan.

What really cracks me up over there is that they will say things like "imagine if we had had to play this years schedule with the old coaching staff, it is such a relief that we have such a major upgrade in coaching?" WHAAA?? :wow: You have a completely unproven head coach with honestly a pretty uninspiring group of assistants, and everybody over there assumes there has been a massive upgrade? Talk about delusional.

I'm predicting a loss out of the gates to WMU, and watch the doors fall off the lil Red station wagon real fast!

6 wins.

the lustre will be off Ganz in mid October. and Lucky can't carry the run game for guys who can't run block.

i was reading the Pedia the other day and they were ripping Zac Taylor. the single best player of the Callahan era and Big XII O Player of the Year. what a bunch of clowns.

That's where I think your wrong. Our OL is not the problem, nor was it last year. We will do fine on Offense. Defense is the thing that will still hamper us. Too many young players with no experience. It's with any team who has a new HC. It is going to time and patience. Yes this Husker fan does see the writing on the wall and knows squeaking out an 8 game win season will be highly suprising but no expected!

I'm not so sure. The new hc is a former DC, so I think his emphasis will be on that side of the ball. Just as slashabilly's focus was on the O. I think you will be improved on the defensive side and the offense, left to Watson, will begin to suffer. That said, the D will keep you in some of those tougher games, and 7 wins is doable. JMHO.

I see Pelini as the kind of guy who will try to micro-manage the defense while relying too heavily on booger to run the offense. Maybe it's just the optimist in me, but I think this could be a disaster.

Lack of speed at receiver not worrying you at all?

Booger had a pretty good offensive coordinator as hos HC in Colorado and still managed to wear out his welcome. With a Def Coordinator as his HC, he will either fall on his ass or look like a genius. You make the call.

When Wade Philips (prior DC) took over as the Bronc's head coach he did just the opposite. He became enamored with offense at the expense of the defense.

I think the receiver area is another question mark with mixed experience there. Nate Swift and Todd Petersen are decent receivers and the young guys are really unknown right now. Holt, Brooks, Paul, and Gilleylen will definately need to step up to help the offense out.

blah blah blah, are we supposed to know who the f*ck these people are? :gobuffs:

Again, Lil' Bo has NO head coaching experience and his staff (except Watson) are new as well. This formula can = a couple of losses due to bad play calling in all facets of the game. It's going to take Lil' Bo at least two years. Not that it hasn't been done, but it's very rare that a coach in their 1st year has a winning record these days.
Hope springs eternal.

We got plenty of speed at WR.
Curenski Gilleylen 4.5 40
Niles Paul 4.4 40
Khiry Cooper 4.5 40
Steven Osborne 4.5 40
Antonio Bell 4.5 40

Nope....Don't really see any lack of speed here!

The big question mark on O is the TE spot.
