Who will step up at DE?

Obi - 10 sacks. Thinking big!

In 3 years maybe, he will be fighting to see the field this season. He is either a little slow to mature or has a hard time when he is frustrated. Their has been several cases when he has gotten pancaked in practice has came up swinging at the O-line. The physical talents are there for him he just needs to add the mental and technical aspects of the game.

Tempers always flare during the one on ones with the oline. They're always squashed quickly. I don't see that as a huge deal. jmo.

Out of those 5 guys,I didn't see any of them show a nack for exploding off the edge and getting to the qb other than brace. Herrod and obi have beenhyped since day one. They are young but a cou[le of these guys have got to get it done.

Can one of these guys be a williams, wright woolfork or mchesney?

They've got some guys there that have all the physical tools to succeed. They need to put it together on the field, though.

Prior to the Spring game, I would have said Obi. Problem is, he didn't show me much of anything at the Spring game, and I guess he's been running 2nd or even 3rd team. I don't know what his story is, but I'd love to see him step it up a notch this year.

Brace?
Herrod?
Hudgins?
Lucas?
Obi?

Based on his spring performance and the fact that he is playing where he belongs now (instead of DT), I think Brace is going to have a very good year. He is comming into his third year in the system and has the frame for a DE, its just a matter of putting everything together on the field.

I think this time next year, Herrod will have grown into a DT (or stays at DE if they utlize the 3-4). At 6'2," a non stop motor and a short wingspan, if he were to add 15 more lbs, he would be a monster DT and a perfect replacement for Hypolite.

I am very anxious to see how Brace does in game action. He is my bet for new impact player this year.

I hope Hudgins can produce, but I wonder if he will ever be the same as he was before the injury.

I am pulling for Herrod and Obi. Hell, I hope wwe are freaking out mid-season because there isn't enough playing time to go around.

Hudgins stepping up would be huge. Granted it was JUCO, he tore apart defenses. Coming back from his injury will be tough, but hopefull, he, and the rest of the DEs know how important they are going to be to the overall success of this team.

I agree, I thought he played well in spring (brace)

I'm looking forward to seeing herrod and obi, I think Herrod could be the guy and he had it tough coming in last year but with a year under his belt, he may be ready to knock some heads.

I'm anxious to see all 3, but particularly Brace. He's very strong and is probably best suited for strong-side DE. The initial move to DT didn't really surprise me, but neither does the fact that he may be done growing (weight wise).

He was a DE in HS, and from the outside looking in at least, this appears to be a very good move. I hope he does well. I hope they all do great and become pleasant surprises.
