CU Football Preview - courtesy of BarkingCarnival

Just read the KSU preview. CLASSIC.

"Ron Prince is now 12-13 at KSU. The Cats lost their last four contests in 2007 surrendering an average of 49.5 points per game. Including a 42 point loss to a Nebraska team being coached by an infinite number of monkeys holding a finite number of laminated play sheets."

Yet Prince is 2-0 against CU where Hawkins is 8-17 in two years

The KSU one is damn funny, too, as mentioned above:

I cannot get around the fact that KSU beat the dog**** out of us in 2007, a result that we’ll look back on in twenty five years and puzzle over like Ordinary People beating Raging Bull for Best Picture in ‘80. In any event, KSU has our number. The ugly bitch won’t stop calling. Leaving crazy messages on the bedroom answering machine that we forgot to mute as we stare wistfully at the BCS hottie reclasping her bra and collecting her purse to leave. Another Purple Kitty **** block.

Take CU and UT out of the equation and Prince isnt a very good coach.

I don't think i've read a more ridicuolous yet entertaining piece of shyte like this in awhile. A little excessive and over the top on the Hawkins bashing...can't wait to stomp some BEVO ass this year!

Take Texas Tech out of the equation and Hawkins isn't a very good coach

Jimmybuff, stay away frm RippinLips's 'puter.

Look at it this way. If you took away the Bowl game, any OOC BCS and D-2 opponents and all the Big 12 North, Hawk's record at CU would be respectable.

In other words, if Unleash's aunt had balls, she'd be his uncle.

tell Bob Stoops and UBT that.

I'm just saying. If you say Prince isn't a good coach based off what he's done at KSU, then you can't say Hawk is a good coach. Hawk hasn't done anything better than Prince has and KSU has kicked cu's ass the last two years.

Now, I am opptimistic about the future of cu football with Hawk in charge. But Hawk still has a lot to prove.

"Hawk Kwan Do! Who wants this? You? Get up! Your name? Utah State! Utah State, I will roundhouse kick you like a dredyl dipped in razor blades! These cheetah striped nylon action pants are not for flower arranging! Witness my scorpion-emblazoned do-rag. You think Ned’s Martial Arts Supply on 14th Street sells these to pussies? I assure you, they do not. People, I’m just going to break the arm and walk away. Who wants to hang out in my sweat lodge later?":rofl2:

I'm sorry but this is funny stuff. If I was Hawk, I would be flattered.

What ? You dismissing what Hawk did at Boise ? What was Prince's record as a head coach before he got to KSU ? (yeah it's a trick question)

If you haven't checked out http://www.barkingcarnival.com before, you are missing out. They are going through their annual Big 12 team previews. Today was CU. They are done by Texas fans, so there is plenty of DScott smack. It's a good website to keep bookmarked during the college football season.

CU Preview

Hilarious, and a fair assessment of our program (if not necessarily of Coach Hawk) from an outsider's perspective.

Can't wait for Texas to visit Boulder!

Quit looking at just wins and losses. How is Hawkins recruiting compared to Princes? What about the shape of the program when both coaches took over? What about talent level when both coaches took over?

:wtf: Seriously :wtf: are you smoking.

Hawkins is head and shoulders above Prince in coaching department despite 8-17. You are not paying attention if you haven't seen what Hawkins is capable of. He has a lot to prove? Recruiting as been awesome. You think we would have landed some of these guys with Barnett? Hawkins took over a program in the ****ter and beat Oklahoma last year. I haven't heard this much good news come out during the summer in ages. Yet you say Hawkins still has a lot to prove? :wow:

Hawkins still has a lot to prove. He said he would get a national championship. I am holding him to his word :smile2:. I don't think he has anything left to prove off the field. The next two years it really WILL come down to wins and losses. I am fully drunk on the Hawkaid so I look forward to a lot less groaning and a lot more drunken cheering in these 2 years!

Hawk gets a bad rap sometimes imo - he didn't even have a QB for his first season!

BINGO!!

Hawk and the players are talking National championship. Again, personally I think Hawk is gonna turn out great, I love the guy and am stoked about the future. He has done an excellent job of recruiting and his past sucess. But he does have a lot to back up.I think everybody is overeacting to what I am saying. I am more making an argument about Prince because I am very bitter for what KSU has done to us the last two years.

Has he done here what he did at Boise? No. But he did take over a good team at Boise, who was at worst top three in the conference, and here he took over a team that was woefully short on talent against a very good conference. We had looked ok while the B12 north was down, but Tejas showed us what was what, and KU and MU have been pregressively getting better.

I think while the record my not look much better (although I think 1 or 2 wins more) due to the schedule, I think we will see a much better product on the filed this year. Only wish Hypolite could be around to enjoy the fruits of his labor next year. What a leader, what a character.

I agree. Hawk walked into a bad situation. I like what I have been seeing in practice and the recruits he has been bringing in. We made huge strides last year, beating OU was huge. I can't wait for the season. I think a lot of people (especially Matt) don't really get what I'm talking about. I know it sounds like I'm ripping on Hawk, but I'm really not. I am just saying based off what Prince and Hawk have done at CU and KSU, they are really similar.

I guess Hawkins should have come in and said:

"Well, we hope to get back to winning records and going to low level bowl games again."

It'd be nothing but ****ing party-time if he'd said that I guess, because he would have already "backed up" everything he said.

Good grief.

gahh, nevermind, people just DON'T GET what I'm talking about. Or I just must be bad at describing what I mean.

Oh BTW, it wouldn't be mother ****ing party time because he hasn't had a winning record yet!!! YAY!

I'm pretty sure I know what you're trying to say, Rip... if you judge Hawk just by record to date you could say he sucks. Judge him just on his record against Prince you could say he sucks. Judge him by his record excluding TT and you could say he REALLY sucks. Judge his against his stated long-term goals for the program and he looks like a total disaster. But judge him by his recruiting, by how the program has changed from the day he walked in to today, by his record before he came to CU and you don't come to the conclusion that he sucks at all, just that he hasn't gotten where he wants to go... YET.

I'm with you - I have all the faith in the world in Hawk to get it done (especially if he learns when to punt the goddamn football!), but at this point you can't say that his success is a proven fact. YET.

I don't get what you are saying. This infatuation with Hawk's second year record comes across like someone who measures the quality of sex with a stopwatch. Or someone who complains about spring because it's not summer.

There is so much more to consider than his W/L record over the past two years. He has come in to a program in full meltdown, and created a positive environment, where beating Oklahoma and Nebraska in the same year happens. Where the largest turn-out for a spring game happens. Where 5-star recruits happen. Where volunteerism happens. Where 2 second round NFL draft picks happen. Where the fans, students and alumni see potential that is blossoming. Where the hottest FB ticket in the state happens.

Yeah, it would do a disservice to the tradition of the Buffs to do any backflips over a 2-10 and 6-7 record. But the energy around the program is positive and tangeble steps are being taken to improve. If Hawk were recruiting JuCos like Prince, and not tripling his Y/Y win record, or missing out on the Bowl Game, or if he were making assistant coaches run stairs, or if he were caught in some local scandal, then maybe the record thing would bother me more. But all I see is progress and all I feel is pride.

OK read this very carefully. I am fully aware of what Hawk has done and the energy in the program.

No you don't get what I'm saying, I should have never mentioned Hawk because I agree with 100% of what you just posted.

Amen. Rep.
