Any idea what time the final public scrimmage is tomorrow?

After the scrimmage tomorrow I will post what the depth chart would/should be IMO. Anyone who cannot make it let me know if you want some specific report and I'll be sure to keep my eye on it.

-Defensive Backs (Corner and Safety)
-Rodney "Speedy" Stewart

Re: 8/15 Scrimmage

It's still listed as 4:00 - 6:30 p.m., after a 2:00 - 2:45 walkthrough, but the schedule hasn't always been kept (weather being a factor this week).

I would be very much interested in any info you could relay on the cornerbacks. I know it is beating a dead horse, but this remains the position of concern, IMO, and I am always looking for reports of improved play.

Thanks for your time and efforts!

No problem, I will try and take as good of notes as I can for you MB

Re: 8/15 Scrimmage

I am also interested on Stewart and where you think will end up. I unfortunetly can't make it. Also how the safeties are doing.

Re: 8/15 Scrimmage

Uh. I heard Rodney had McDonalds for lunch. A #4 according to my sources. :smile2:

#4? WTF, he's been in camp for like three weeks. If he isn't ordering a #2 by now, or at least a 3, he's not worth ****. We are seriously screwed if we're counting on a #4 eater to be our punt returner/scat back. Can't anything go right this offseason?

Re: 8/15 Scrimmage

He's only a freshman. I'm sure Pittman will have him working on upgrading his value meals real soon. Our season may depend on it.

Re: 8/15 Scrimmage

wait a minute.....this just in. According to AZ at Buffscooper.com Rodney didn't eat all of the fries. He tossed them into the trash can HALF FULL! I can't believe it. He may be able to get away with this in HS. But this is DIVISION ONE FOOTBALL!!! It's the BIG XII!!!

Chill out, man. He found out that the guy who was working the fry station at the McD's got his undergrad and masters at *ebraska.

He'll be able to make it up. It'll be hard to find a McD's not staffed by fuskers though.

It probably goes w/o saying, but I want to know how DScott is running and if he can pass block at all yet.

That may be, but a true player would have walked his ass over to Burger King to get the full meal in. Jesus, what the hell is going on on the Hill?

Like you can find a BK without fuskers making the fries? C'mon. He'd have to hit a Chipotle and get a burrito. Wrapping those up takes much more knowledge than you can get from a PhD at NU.

Re: 8/15 Scrimmage

I was only able to see about 25 plays or so. But, Speedy and Jalil Brown were the two players that stood out to me. Speedy didn't break anything big while I was there, but he's definitely quick and tough to grab. Jalil did a great job getting off a block and making a tackle on Sumler (I think) on one play and then later in the scrimmage he hit him real good, sending him to the sidelines.

Other quick thoughts: Ballenger looked nice on a couple plays but also held the ball and made some mistakes on others. JFly is fast and big. Bigger than I thought. They ran nearly all the plays I saw out of the no huddle shot gun. They played quickly and hopefully that will keep Ds on their toes. But, the first team offense didn't look very sharp while I was there. I'm not sure whether that was because the D was playing well (they were covering the middle of the field much better than the second team D) or what, but the 2nd team was moving the ball much better while I was there.

Overall, they look pretty big and there is some definite speed this year. I'm pumped up to see what they can do on the field.
