I'm glad CSewe is in the rearview mirror...

winning against the Goats is anti-climactic. I get pretty pumped before the game, not because of the supposed rivalry, but because Buff FB is about to begin.

I am sick of hearing about how CSewe does less with less (pun intended), how it should be played at the Big Diaphragm, how it's good for CFB in the state, bleat, bleat, bleat...

Fact is, CSewe gets propped up by this game, giving them a NAtl. TV game, $$$ and a yearly BCS opponent. CU gains nothing in this game. If CU wins, we hear about how valiant the sheep were in "giving it all the have" etc. If by some miracle the sheep win, it's all you hear for the rest of the year.

I am glad the Buffs laid a 21 pt. beatdown on the goats. I am looking for two more and then end the series and let CSewe sink or swim on their own in the mtn. weenie div.

FWIW, I think Fairchild could do a good job up there. But he needs to recruit. Unlike CU, nearly all of CSewe's contributors are seniors. The cupboard is bare. IF Fairchild can get some talent in the door, CSewe will be OK. But it is going to be ugly for the next couple of years. Imagine Sunday's game without Johnson, Sperry, Farris. Not pretty.

Next year is going to be ugly for them in Boulder. The speed differential on Sunday night was pretty amazing. It seemed like there were many times where it appeared CSU had a potential big play only to see our defense flow to the ball quickly and shut down the play.

It is going to be interesting to see how Fairchild does there.

:yeahthat:

Speed and size differential. The CU OL just wore them down. Halfway through the third quarter they were gassed.

And now lets guess their average attendance for the remaining home games. I'll go 17,043

I'm glad to get CSU in the rear view mirror for the sole reason that we can now concentrate on the Eastern Washington Eagles (fka Savages)

I'm worried that CU might get punked by E-Woo.

CU's coming off an emotional victory in front of a national television audience, and is celebrating our good fortune to have the Smith-Scott 1-2 punch. The next big televised game with championship implications is West Virginia. Since EWU is not televised, it's easy to gloss over this team. Plus the Buffs have a short week to prepare.

It's interesting reading the TT and EWU boards. One comment that stands out is that EWU may be the best team playing in the state of Washngton right now. The other point is that by TT's estimation, the Eagles are better than ISU and Baylor. The Tech fans were gushing about how good EWU is.

I'm not counting on this one as automatic. CU needs to take this season one game at a time and focus on the opponent at hand.

glad the game is over...

agreed that next year in Folsom will be ugly...

Don't expect Hawkins/team to overlook EUW (Pun intended)....

If by that you mean who gives a Sh!t, then I agree completely.

First off, where are the EWU boards? I would like to go read some of them to get a feel for how the fans think they can do against CU. Second, lots of teams will gush about how good the team was that they beat after they beat them.

'Man, I know they were D-II and all, but they were really, really good! I know that we did not score 70 points like we did against NU last year, but man, these guys were alot better!!! I know we gave up 24 points at home, but - wow!!! these guys will win every game left they have!!!'

Hey, they could be all that they are advertised to be, but I just have that nagging feeling that it may be easier for TT to think that they were really good, rather than to think that TT is not nearly as good as advertised.

On the other hand, the same goes with us. CSU might turn out to be a decent team, might win 6 games this year, or win 2-3 again, and CU just looked good due to a vastly inferior team as an opponent last week. That is the hard part of the first few games-- you don't have many comparisions to really know how your team is yet. A game under our belts and still alot of question marks.

I would hope that the coaches and players that were here for Montana State will not let the newer kids overlook EWU after the MS fiasco.

I'm glad the lammie game is over just so that we can have the first game over. The first game is scary just because you never know if the players are going to mesh together until you go live against a real opponent. I also like having the first game over because it sets the baseline for the season - this is the starting point and we build up from here.

I'm very happy after this first game because our baseline is waaaaaaay higher this year than it's been in 5 years and I'm excited about the level we will end the season at if we just keep learning and improving.

I know that we (the collective Allbuffs "we") like to point the finger at CSU and accuse their fans of being obsessed with our school.

Have we started speculating what CSU's average attendance will be for the remainder of the season? Just wondering.

Nah. It's just a little game we'll play until after EWU.
