Hawkins first 3 games, any patterns?

Here is a look at Hawkins first three games in his first three years here.

2006
Montana St. L 10-19. One of the worst losses in school history.
CSU L 10-14. Played somewhat better, but still lost to a bad CSU team
Arizona St. L 3-21 Score was close most of game, but Devils dominated for the most part

2007
CSU W 31-28. Came from behind to beat a bad CSU team in OT
@ Arizona St. L 14-33. Got early 14-0 lead before ASU's 33 unanswered points.
Florida St. L 6-16. Defensive battle, buffs had chances to win at end.

2008
CSU W 38-17. Good second half puts CSU away.
E. Washington. W 31-24. Almost a Montana St repeat. Seniors rallied team for better second half.
West Virginia...

Any patterns? It seems like we don't make much progress from 1st to 2nd game. The third game will be a televised night game at home for 3rd straight time. We usually play better in 3rd game, but have yet to win. It seems the offenses in Hawks teams don't really get going until mid-season.

I believe it is difficult to draw any patterns yet. IMO here is why.
1. first year no QB 2. Second year freshman QB 3. this year whole offense still very young
I agree with your statement about the progress from games 1 and 2. However, our opponents get much better in game 3.

Patterns:
- Start winning night games (reference 2007 - ASU, KSU, FSU, Alabama)
- Keep winning day games (MofO, OU, Baylor, TT, kNU, EWU)
- Win against north opponents not named Nebraska
- Start strong and don't put the team in a hole at halftime. (ref. Alabama, OU, ASU, EWU)
- Finish what you started (ISU, UGA)
- Get a handle on turnovers, penalties, 3rd down conversions, bad snaps.

My synopsis of your post:
1) Win
2) Don't **** up, and win
