After a boring slate of schedules in the first week of the season, some more interesting matchups are on the table for this weekend.

Of course we all know Ohio St @ USC, which most people are picking SC big.

Others are

#13 Kansas @ #19 South Florida. We will find out if Kansas was a one year wonder in this game I think.

#10 Wisconsin @ #21 Fresno St. FSU could be BCS crashers if they get by Wisconsin and UCLA.

Iowa St. @ Iowa. Nationally doesn't mean much, but this is a very similar series of CU/CSU. Only difference is both schools are in BCS confrences.

Michigan @ Notre Dame. Huge rivalry, last year was to see who sucked more. Looks like this year might be the same.

#16 Oregon @ Purdue. Tough task for Ducks on the road.

Georgia Tech @ Viirginia Tech. G-Tech is on the rise. Hokies could very likely to be 1-2 after this.

UCLA @ #18 BYU. Third matchup in a year between this teams. They split 1-1 last year. Bruins taking regular season, Mormons taking bowl.

some decent matchups this week. last week was a little sparse.

i'll be interested to see the USF-KU game...and more than happy to have a few beers Friday night in so doing.

Big 12 games

#3 Oklahoma @ Washington. Can huskies keep it close after losing heartbreaker last week?

SMU @ #12 Texas Tech. Yawn

Arkansas @ #8 Texas. This would have been a good matchup last year, this year not so much, Horns big.

Missouri St. @ Oklahoma St. Another yawner

Washington St. @ Baylor. Bears will win

Nevada @ #6 Mizzou. Mizzou will get 50+ points for third straight week.

New Mexico St. @ Nebraska. Huskers roll.

What about OU @ UW? I mean... I know UW is struggling but it'll be nice for OU to go into the Pac-10 and clean house right? I agree with the KU @ USF though... that looks like a good one... too bad I won't get to watch any probably... :(

I think OU rolls big. They remembe the last time they travelled to the NW and got screwed.

I'm actually quite surprised by this prediction... but I'd love to see it!

I think that prediction is probably right. But that matchup is definite crummy game of the week material. Pac-10 and Big XII bottom feeders matching up...

And I agree with Rip on OU/UDub. OU has a serious score to settle with the Pac-10. That one could get ugly.

I'll probably start out with Iowa State-Iowa for the noon game, not a whole lot of interesting games to choose from in this window.

The 3:30 Eastern/1:30 Mtn window is where the good smorgasbord begins:
At 3:30 I'll start with Penn State-Syracuse until that one gets out of hand, so after about 5-10 minutes I'll switch over to the Georgia-South Carolina game. :smile2:

I'll also be checking in on the Michigan-ND game from time to time especially if ND is losing because I never pass up a chance to watch when notre lame is losing. The UCLA-BYU game should be good - does anyone know if this game is on FSN? It's not part of GamePlan.

And of course Ohio State-USC for the nightcap.

Don't forget the Fresno v Wisconsin game...that is the late night cap

Okay, so let's sort out this weekends games, AB style................

NCAA Football
PILLOW FIGHT OF THE WEEK
(September 13 edition)
IS IT:

____ Meeechegan @ Sorta Lame
(1929 had Black Friday....we now have Black Saturday. Keep your ad executives away from the windows, please.)

____ Wazzu State @ Baaaaiiilllller
(Quick, change the channel!!! I think BJ and the Bear reruns are on.)

____ SouthernFriedIllinininini @ NorTeWesturn
(There should be an ncaa rule barring games this bad.)

____ North Dakkie State @ Why-am-I-oming
(Well, at least the travel costs are reasonable.)

Remember, every vote counts!!

hey now, don't mess with my salukis. the only positive i ever saw in shortbus was that he coached SIU. i say SIU wins just because i am a homer.

Wazzu sucks ass. They gave up 66 at home to Cal last week. Granted Cal is no pushover, but 66 at home?

Not to mention that they got ripped at home by OSU. Baylor wins this one, but it's close. KU/USF is a good game waiting to happen. If their first couple of performances say anything, KU doesn't have the offensive firepower they did last season. OU rolls, big. UT/Ark is postponed. TT has another yawner as does Mizzou. Iowa/ISU is gonna be interesting. ISU doesn't look too bad this year and Iowa seems to have solved their anemic offense problem. Should be a good one.
USC will roll up OSU big time. Even if Wells is healthy, when was the last time ANY team ran on USC? Take that away and you're relying on Boeckman to win the game.
Michigan/ND looks like the biggest tard fight of the year. Both teams have so much talent and they are both sooooooo screwed up. I may watch just for the laughs.

Iowa St. will lose as well....and of course I got to pick an L for kNU, because I do every week!

As an NMSU alum I'm really, really hoping for an NU loss. They didn't play last week in their season opener so I'm sure opening up at Lincoln is, well, going to suck. They have a veteran QB and a TT type of offense so they can put up points. Unfortunately, they can also have a lot of points put on them :sad1:

I'm hoping for a Ball State type of shootout with an Aggie win (we are Aggies, but certainly not like other Aggies I've seen....).

If you've never watched the Iowa vs. Iowa State game it doesn't matter which team is better there because they always play each other well. Iowa's new QB looks pretty good and they have a running back who I guess is just a hard f-ing runner. If Iowa State comes out and scores on Iowa's defense fairly quickly it'll be a shootout. NU wins by the way..................:smile2:

I'll definitely be watching the CyHawk game. My father went to both schools but is a Hawkeye fan so i too want them to win. I watched Iowa's QB Christiansen last yr and he is quite the inaccurate passer so Stanzi should play more imo. But, no matter who the better team is it always ends up close. Unfortunately, i think ISU will pull out the victory

Christiansen might be one of the worst QB's I've ever seen, at least last season he was. He keys in on one receiver and by god he's going to throw to that receiver come hell or high water. Nevermind the fact that he has a tight end or running back as his dumpoff receiver and is right in front of him 10 yards jumping up and down! My family are all Iowa fans so I'm going to have to root for Iowa in this one even though ISU is a Big XII school. It won't surprise me if ISU pulls the win out though.

I've watched a few of these in the past and have been to 1 as well...have a cousin & ISU now...they're always fun games similar to the CU/CSU series...I usually give the home team the benefit of the doubt in these games, but it'll be fun to watch.....and you're right Nu will prolly steamroll since this is somehow the Lobo's first game of the season :wow:

Aggies, not Lobo's

The Oregon-Purdue game is going to be a track meet
