I thought CU fans assaulted the elderly?

I was involved in this. The man who was punched was my friend's father.

In case anyone tells you differently, the guy who did this was a WVU fan, and the punch was not inadvertent. He waited until the younger guys were not looking and he sucker punched the victim. The guy is lucky that my friend did not kill him. Very ugly situation.

Would have been nice if the article had mentioned the guy was not a CU fan.

I hope your friend's dad is doing ok NWD.

:yeahthat:

And I hope your friend got in a couple of his own while 'restraining' the guy for the cops.

He's doing fine. After they gave their statements and everything, they actually came back in and watched the rest of the game.

He was sporting a pretty nasty looking split lip though.

Why did he target you friend's father, out of curiosity? That whole thing sucks.

I hate when people accidentally punch me in the face. It sucks, but freak accidents happen.

He was hammered, and started talking trash before my friends even sat down. We talked to some of the guys friends later, and they said that he had a history of doing stuff like this, although assault on the elderly was a new low for him. He waited until my friend and his brother (who are both big guys) were distracted, and he just took a shot at their father out of the blue. There was no physical altercation before that moment.

His girlfriend was screaming at him during this, saying that he promised her he wasn't going to do something like this again, and then she pleaded with me to hold my friend back so that he could get out of the section to meet the waiting security guy. I was sitting about seven rows up when the fight started. I ran up there just because I saw a fight, and I was actually pulling my friend off the other guy because I was worried that he was going to seriously hurt him. It was only then that I learned what actually had happened.

wtf?

some guy took a throw at my dad, it's "on". however, my dad was an army ranger (in addition to being a lawyer) and probably take care of it himself.

I hate how the comments on that site all reek of NU bastages... Seriously... did you guys check out the comments on there? They're all "Would expect this from CU fans... but if it were NU this would NEVER happen..."

WHEN will people stop bagging on CU fans?! Seriously... we're great fans... it's a load of media induced BS that makes everyone who has had no interaction with our fans think that we're just terrible... what a load of crap. Arrgh... :bang:

Sorry to hear NWD.

I had to tell a buff fan to show some class after he was talking smack to a WVU fan. The guy looked like he was ready to hit me. My wife grabbed my arm and we walked off.

I hate trash talking and fighting at games. Internet is fine because it's all just fun and games. I know, you all are gonna say internet tough guy remarks:rolleyes:

Anyway, when I see our own fans doing stupid ****, I say something. I don't care that half the people are bigger than me.

At least you aren't Wispy...then ALL the fans would be bigger than you. :smile2:

The second somebody starts something with my Dad, it's on like Donkey Kong. I nearly buried the guy in Miami who knocked over mrs sackman, and was only kept from doing so by a bunch of CU fans. I'm all for watching a game and getting excited, but when the line of physical confrontation is crossed, that's when I become as serious as a heart attack. Especially when it's my family involved.

And they know you are like a UFC fighter when you start the fight with 'Oh, it's on like Donkey Kong!':smile2:

I would get my ass kicked if someone I was starting to fight with said that, because I would stop and start laughing my ass off! (I need to be good and pissed to be an effective fighter, otherwise I just push people around and laugh at them).
