Princeton 10
Lehigh 7.

:woot:

Princeton kicked a last second field goal to win the game. Lots of offense for a game that had only 17 points.

I'll say this about Ivy League football - it's very sound fundamental football. Not a lot of mental mistakes. They aren't as athletically gifted as D-1 players are, but they play very well.

Princeton has a punter that could play for any D-1 team. He didn't punt much, but the three punts he had were 50+ yards with tons of hang time.

Princeton triumphed by kicking a oblong ball made of pigskin through a giant H. It was a most ripping victory. Lots of offense for a game that had only 17 points.

The Princeton band is freaking hilarious.

A sampling of their "band" produces the following:

Two guys who play toilet seats draped over their heads like drums.
A "Flamingo" player. Don't ask. The kid has a set of plastic pink flamingos set up like a drum and just hits them with a stick.
A guy who plays two plastic jack-o-lanterns.

And the topper - a violin player. Yes, they have a violin player in their marching band. :wow:

Lehigh University is located in Bethlehem, PA. So to "welcome" the visitors from Lehigh, the Princeton band turned and faced the visitors section, and played "O Little Town of Bethlehem". :rofl2:

Princeton is a much, much different place than CU.

YMSSR, 4Dem. That's good stuff.

 What does YMSSR mean? I'm sorry... I google'd it, I looked it up on Urban Dictionary. Nothing! Something about rep I think... anyway, if someone wouldn't mind a quick explanation that'd be awesome!

Must
Spread
Some
Rep

You Must Spread Some Rep.

you cant rep the same person in 5 reps. therefore, one has to spread some rep to some other posters before they can rep the same person again.

Princeton and Rutgers played the very first collegiate football game, so they didn't have much competition at the beginning. :smile2:

who we playing this week?

Rutgers

not those assholes again. their fans are the worst.

I would recommend an Ivy League game to anybody who loves the game of football. Like I said, it's very fundamentally sound football. Not very flashy, though.

I would disagree with that. I went to Penn and saw plenty of Ivy League games and would not consider them fundamentally sound. However, the lack of scholarships levels the playing field a bit and many guys are out there simply because they love to play.
The fans on the other hand are pretty much nonexistent. I was there when Game Day came for the Penn / Harvard battle of the undefeateds. You think it is embarassing when nobody shows up for the Buff walk? Try having nobody show up on national TV.

Maybe that's just cause you were watching Penn games.

In all seriousness, they don't make a lot of stupid mental errors. That's what I mean by fundamentally sound football. They play hard and they play smart. That doesn't translate into great football, necessarily. You're not going to see 50 yard bombs or 70 yard runs.
