At the beginning of the 2005 season, I got a #42 Buffs jersey as part of my game-day uniform. In the 10 games I have seen in person, each while wearing said jersey, the Buffs are 5-5:

2005 - aTm = W; Missou = W; kNU = L
2006 - BU = L; TTU = W; ISU = W
2007 - FSU = L; KU = L; kNU = W
2008 - FSU = L.

For those who are superstitious like me, and are convinced that the clothes you wear or the direction the label on your beer faces, can directly influence the outcome of the game, what would you do?

Retire the jersey and get one with better mojo, or give it another chance against UT?

Purify eh? The record of your jersey sort of follows his sadly injury riddled career.

I'm surprised you stuck with it that long. The Black CU polo I wore for game days was 3-0 this season and I ditched it at halftime of FSU.

Oh, I'm not for "putting it out to pasture", just put it away, maybe give it a gentle hand-wash, and if no other shirts are getting the job done, give it another go.

Are you happy with a .500 record? I don't believe any of us would be happy if CU was 500 every year. It's time to get a new one.

Ah ha! So it's your fault that we blew it in the second half! :smile2:

14ers - my dilemma is that the jersey was 2-1 in the crap ass 2006 season. I still bear a lot of guilt for letting the team down by not being present with the jersey at more games that season. Then comes 2007, where the jersey is 1-2, and *boom* more guilt as it was clearly the jersey's fault that we lost FSU and KU that year. The mojo came back for kNU last year, but I suspect that may have been its dieing breath.

come to think of it, I have never washed it. Maybe some Woolite and rest will rejuvenate the mojo. Perhaps a new one will make to old jersey jealous, and bring its mojo back to life?

Bobby Purify was a ****ing hardcore battler who never let a bad break (or a few every year) stop him from trying his best. I say wash that mother, let it rest for the UT game, and then bust it back out. when it is healed up.

See, here's your issue. Things that are good and provide good mojo for *ebraska do the exact opposite for every other game, and vice versa. Whatever your most unlucky jersey/hat/socks/underwear is, wear it against *ebraska and we're golden. *ebraska is like George Costanza, everything is opposite.

Under no circumstances are you to burn that jersey. Save it for ONE game a year.

The jersey is 1-1 against the Fuskers. :sad1:
