Anyone know the rule on that one?

His feet, behind the line, his arm in front of it, obviously the ball in front of it. The call was confirmed but it sounds like BS to me

To me, it looked like everything was in front of the line.

To add to what Slade said, it doesn't matter where the ball is, as long as any part of your body is on or behind the LOS it's a legal pass.

He was PAST Nicolas (who bounced back to contain). You can not possibly tell me he didnt pass the line of scrimmage.

This new "beyond the line of scrimmage rule" SUCKS! IMO, they changed the rule because of instant replay. It is a lot easier for the officials to tell where the "body" is, which is usually a foot on the ground, than where the ball is which is almost always 5 or 6 feet above the ground. So, to make it easy on the lame assed officials, they just said, "What the hell? Lets just say its where the body is even if the ball is 2 yards past the line of scrimmage."

I just re-watched the play. Smart had the reciver covered all the way until McCoy reached the line of scrimmage. Then he broke to the QB who then threw it from a yard to yard and a half beyond the line. LAME RULE!

The NFL and NCAA changed the rule this year. It is a stupid rule. It should be what it has always been and that is where the ball is when released. So, why should a touchdown count unless the player gets his entire body across the goal line? Or a first down for that matter?

Speaking of across the line, WTF was JFly thinking?!?!? He is so crazy on kick returns. It's either total **** or a 50 yard return. Very frustrating.

He looked like a ****ing zombie in "The Night of the Living Dead!"

I think he was originally trying to be sneaky, then realized this isn't going to work and then his brain just shut down.

I think I remember two nice returns last night--one of those was exceptional.
