Cody Hawkins Is ALL CLASS

Cody knows, and has known, that his days as a quarterback were numbered. Whether it be this week, next week or next year, he knew he would not be "the" guy. I think he is well grounded and will make a great football coach one day... might I offer Major Applewhite as a possible comparison of a QB that didn't stand a chance of moving beyond college football as a player but seems to be making a mark as a coach.

If I remember the quote correctly, Cody spoke of "coaching up" Hanson. I hope he uses these opportunities to build his coaching resume. Not to prematurely put Cody to pasture, but he seems to be the kind of guy that belongs on college sidelines for years to come.

Cody...? I like him, and he has a lot to offer this team, whether it be under center or on the sidelines.

I like Cody and I bet he would be very effective in the Wac or something, but he is not a B12 QB and Hansen and Ballnger fit more the mold of the current B12 QB's.

I never booed him and never will, but his days are numbered as the starter.

If anybody heard the post game interviews or saw him at the press table after the game, they would never boo this kid. He is one stellar kid and someone who will continue to be a good one to have on the team. He is going to make one hell of a back up for the next couple of years and will be a positive force on this team. He may not be a starter on the team, but he is an all star when it comes to being a good person.

I will be all over anyone at the game who boos or says a negative thing about him.

we will still need cody this year. if our Buffs are going to win some more games, cody will be a part of it.

and, i agree about him--- his parents raised him well. he is all team-first.

plus, did you hear about him after the game? he stayed, long after folsom was deserted, still in his game pants, to throw the ball around with a bunch of kids. this guy is a great, great representative of our university and we should be proud that he is a Buff.

i hope he doesn't get booed more. he is acutely aware, i am sure, of his physical limitations. all he has done is his best. up until now, there hasn't been another qb who can beat him out. and, frankly, hansen isn't all there yet either. he is a change-up option right now. the fact that cody has been starting and doing his best shouldn't be a bad reflection on him-- it is up to the staff to bring in a guy who is better.

i hope hansen has a great career and i hope they can run the full offense. he has more physical skills, obviously. but cody deserves our respect and thanks. last year, there was no one else to do the job and he got us to a bowl. that helped move the program forward.

yes he is little hawk is all class..im in okc very hard to get my hands on cu stuff can someone tell me where i can get a xxx # 2 jersey at ? go buffs

It doesn't matter if he is starting or 3rd string, he will work harder than anybody to help this team win. He represents our University with dignity and class. Make no mistake, he will be the difference between some wins and losses in the years to come, regardless of whether he is playing or "coaching". We are VERY fortunate to have him on our team.

That brings up another point. I dont care who plays if they are playing the hot player. I was one of the loudest to try another QB. Really what i wanted was to know that the coaching staff could make a switch before the game was out of reach and before the 4th qtr. I wasnt sure if they would or could being cody is little hawk

Cody's post game conference was first class...he is a stellar person and definitely has a coaching future.

Hansen took a nasty hit last night. For him to be effective he's going to have to try and limit those.

If the staff decides to go with Hansen as the starter either this year or next, our backup, whether it's Ballenger or Hawkin's, is going to have to be ready to be called in at any moment.

And if some of the student section was booing Hawkin's **** them. We have way too many ****ing students that don't know **** about football and treat the game as an entitlement. **** them.

CH represents the University much more than those assholes ever will.

This.

It's unfortunate, because our students can be a big factor in the games. But the vast majority of them don't know Jack Sh!t about the game itself. It's an excuse to party. And don't get me wrong, that's cool, but it would be nice if they had a higher collective football IQ.

During the Texas game it was bad, there was a girl claiming to be Cody's girlfriend and she was getting on people for booing him.
Quite honestly anyone that boos and downgrades any college player needs to be put in that position themselves, being a college athlete in a blowout or loss the last thing you want is fans booing you it just kills your confidence.
