Is Jameson Davis really worse? How many FGs has Goodman actually made this year? Yikes... :wow:

At least DiLallo is getting closer to his 2006 form instead of last year's form.

Overall, our ST need some serious work.

Good lord, where did Goodman go wrong? 4th and anything inside the opponent 35 and I think we should probably go for it.

I agree, how bad could Davis be? But apparently he has difficulty planting on field goals. I guess he knee is pretty bad.

DiLallo to me is the frustration. His inconsistency really hurts when our offense can only score 14 points.

^^^^^
So basically it's 11 on 10 every time CU kicks off. Can't expect a guy with a bum knee to be the last line of defense.

Let davis have his surgery now and give the rock to goodman for the year. Special teams are already terrible. I can't be that worse with goodman handling both kickoffs and field goals.

CJ said Goodman has hit 80 of 83 in practice. I don't know what happened on the block, but his miss was a 48 yarder. Not exactly a chip shot. But, yeah, he has got to start nailing them. A FG on that last posession would have been nice.

Not his fault, it was a jailbreak up the middle. I think the snap might have been high too.

Snap was high and nobody blocked the NT on that one. Goodman had just kicked the thing when it was blocked.

And then he proceeded to get his clock cleaned by blockers. Anyone else see that? Just got destroyed and Goodman got up and started pushing back.

It really can't be that hard to kick for CU, can it?

I understand you may be talking about CU's current kicking woes, but a lot of kids talk **** about CU's kicking game as if it's always been horrible. Alright, CU has had some mediocre to some horrible kickers - BUT CU HAS HAD SOME GREAT KICKERS! Don't knock on CU's kicking game history. Berger was great, Rouen was great, Mariscal was great, Torp was great, Crosby was great, and I think Dilallo will one day be great too. Shoot, Aldrich was even decent - he was NOT clutch by any means, but if my memory is correct, he'd usually make them...just not clutch chip shots to beat Nebraska in the final seconds. We've had some great ones to go along with our not-so-good ones (argument also made for Aldrich being one of the worst ever...and then there was Knida).

I don't think our concern here is punters.

English was all american as well if I remember correctly.
Also these were punters not kickers. Punters have been awesome kickers not so much:smile2:

Anybody can hit high % in practice, and 48 yds in CU is a chip shot. kicking is 95% between the ears, he might just not have it!

There has got to be another option... the kicking has been atrocious and it's going to cost us games, if it hasn't already. Someone on the team must be able to kick better than this, right?

If not... Hawkins should try to entice a soccer player to walk on or something.

Like the female one he had walk on at Williamette? (yes, he had a girl kicker before CU did):smile2:

There is a pretty damn good soccer player who converted to a FG kicker/punter down here in Southlake....I told his dad to get in touch with the staff...

And if I recall Southlake has a pretty solid program year in year out

Correct, my friend. One of the top programs in the nation (a bunch of rich white kids who learn the drill at a young age...). Our deep snapper (Drescher) is from Carrol Southlake.

The kicking motions are entirely different.

My son was in a bar and there was a guy who was a kicking coach. My son said, "I can kick a 50 yard FG." The guy called bull**** and said, "meet me at the high school on Saturday." So, he went to the high school field and, in front of the guy, kicked a 59 yarder.

You misinterpreted my point. With the altitude CU should ALWAYS have a great kicker. A 45 yarder or less should be a gimme at altitude. My point had nothing to do with prior kickers. The kicking game this year is terrible and I don't understand why.

If your son can hit a 59 yard field goal, I'll bet somebody would be willing to pay off his parking tickets if he would walk his ass on the football team. NOW!

read my first sentence to my initial response - I didn't really misintrept a thing...just throwing my statement about people (not necessarily, but potentially, you) that think CU ALWAYS has a bad kicking game.

Altitude is not some grand qualifier for a kicking game. Kicking in the college ranks is often not very good - part of which makes it more exciting. Our kicker is having a rough time, as are many around the nation. 45 yds and less has more to do with mentality and mechanics than altitude. We can't have a Crosby every year.

Flatirons Buff - my intent was to name just good kickers (P and PK) at CU, and SORRY...:rolleyes:I forgot more than a few, particularly the older ones...
