Well, 1/2 of my prediction has come true about the 2d half of the season

I said we would lose one we shouldn't and win one we shouldn't;...

Well, we lost one. Looked great in the 1st half till we managed to shoot ourselves in the face (much worse then the foot) on TWO drives that should have been TDs, or at least points(thank you Jfly and cody respectively). Our kicker also set a record for missed FG's (i think).

and THEN the bottom then fell out.

After that, a true frosh QB drove us 98 yards in 3 minutes to pull us within 1 score.

D steps up, they go 3 and out. Jfly manages to fumble to our side *(talk about an AWFUL game he had)...

And then Hansen telegraphs a pass and its game over.

Guess what guys? A bowl game does not look likely this year. OSU looks ****ing insanely good, so 6-6 is all we can get. I know this is obvious, but I just wanted to say that this is not the end of the world.

However, I did say we would win one we shouldn't. As bad as NU is getting stomped right now (49 points in a half, go OU!), I don't think this team will be favored at NU.

6-6. Write it down. This season is all but over. It could have been something special but for injuries.

However, beating NU again will be ****ing sweet. If hawk gets what he needs in this next class, the sky is the limit for the next year.

I would love to have your optimism, but "the sky is the limit for next year" is a little strong IMO. This team is sloppy. That is not going to change overnight.

Uh...6-6 would likely mean a bowl game.

That said, the OSU game will be tough, but the other 2 (ISU, NU) are both VERY winnable. I agree that 6-6 is still a very real possibility.

hmmm. fair enough. we should contend for the big XII North title at the very least.

the general consensus is that the Big XII is so strong this year that its very likely a 6-6 team will not get a bid.

ISU should be a win. As far as NU, you guys can sugarcoat it all you want, but it is a road game. We're awful on the road under Hawkins. I don't see how you can really have much confidence at all about that game.

After coming from the game myself, I can confirm that the Buffs def beat themselves. The aggies did not beat us and these kind of games disgust me. If the team beats us because the are better, then props to them. The other way around... :bang:

I think the general consensus is that the Big XII is so strong that they might get 2 BCS bids, and that would open up another team to take one of the 8 Big 12 bowl tie-ins.

Didn't have much confidence about this game before the year and have even less now. Sure, they may be getting pounded by ou, but it at least looks like they can move the ball on offense.

We actually did somewhat move the ball on offense today (400 yards).. almost a 100 yards more than the Aggies did.

Thankful for the play calling as well.

Still, I've been saying we had 4 to win 2. Now we have 3 to win 2. You just never know with a young team.
6-6 will definitely land us in a bowl, even if it is the Texas Bowl.

Progress?

I don't know what that means, but sorry to be the sheep this team has a 50/50 chance against Iowa St, -10% chance against OSU, and 0% against Nebraska. If you honestly think that CU can go into Lincoln with this scheme and win you are out of your mind. Don't tell me they just gave up 60+ points to OU, because we only scored 17 points against the 12th ranked defense in the in the Big 12 who averaged giving up 35 points a game, including 44 to K-State at home. And we could only muster 17, not to mention no Speedy here on out which will give "Radio" Helfrich every reason to think we should run the spread and just run DScott on draws up the middle... And Nebraska holds their own on offense averaging 32 points a game, not to mention hostile environment in Lincoln...

It means, I believe this program has taken a huge step backwards, and DH= Fairbanks.

No way is this Mac's third season. We wont know that yet until Hawk actually succeeds.

Maybe next will year prove the DH era once and for all, but right now there is very little hope.
It's really sad.

Please stop comparing any coach to Macartney.

This is a new era of college football

If your state has talent, you can compete: Texas Tech, South Florida, Cincinnati, South Carolina, Virginia Tech

If your state has no talent, you will not compete
Syracuse, Washington, Washington State, Tennessee (kinda), Colorado, Iowa

Guys aren't as willing to go out of state like they used to.

The exception being schools that have rabid fan bases or generous donors (Tennessee may slide on this one) Oregon, Oklahoma State

Leave the past behind. It's time to come up with a plan to remain competitive in the new age of college football.

That is what the spread offense is, the great equalizer, too bad we can't run it.

You make some good points. The reason kids go to second-tier programs from these fertile recruiting grounds is because they can stay home, not sit behind talent from all over the country and play early. Almost everybody is on TV now, so that is not a selling point.

I believe both Bohn and Hawkins understand both the advantages and challenges of recruiting, academics and fund raising at CU versus the rest of the country.

We need to continue to support all aspect of the program, particularly the players and trust that we are going in the right direction.

The.Big XII should get two BCS teams for sure, barring total meltdowns @ OU, UT, Tech and OSU. I think the question is whether 8 teams get to 6 wins, let alone 9.

6 teams are bowl locks now. UNL has 5 wins and needs to beat us, KjSU or KU to get to 6. They will. That's 7. CU, KjSU and aTm all have 4 wins. We play ISU, OSU and the fuskers. KjSU has Mizzou, ISU and the fuskers. aTm has OU, Baylor and UT. Baylor has 3 wins and needs to run the table against OU, UT and aTm to make a bowl. ISU is already done. I really don't see anybody with an easy road to that 8th slot.
