Oh wow. TX Olineman dismissed from team for Racist Facebook Rant

A racist in Texas??? NO! You can only imagine what this clown's rant would have been if we elected a Hispanic President.

So now BHO has begun the deconstruction of CFB as we know it.....

sarcasm alert.

Can this t-fer to CU now?

just kidding again, sort of....

Disgusting. Backup center, but a very good one getting PT and this is a tremendous hit to Texas' depth. It's not the worst loss with David Snow coming along at the position, but this is another example of attrition on a team roster that could have easily been prevented.

Injuries? Going to happen.
Academic issues? More preventable, but still very likely to happen on any team.
But these kind of transgressions are completely out of line and a D-I athlete is enough of a public figure to know that he can't get away with publishing any of that. Inexcusable.

and its evil to think that ****. Hope that ****er gets his head straight.

Or how about this NFL cheerleader (NE) that got dismissed for her face book pic.

Yeah that's a swatstika under that guy's chin, and "I'm Jew" written on his arm. Not good when the owner is Jewish - Oh the penis' on there aren't good either.

But then again when you look like this, she won't be out of work long

Moron, he got what he deserved and hopefully this will follow him around for a long time.

This is his statement following his removal from the team:

Clearly I have made a mistake and apologized for it and will pay for it. I received it as a text message from an acquaintance and immaturely put it up on facebook in the light of the election. Im not racist and apologize for offending you. I grew up on a ranch in a small town where that was a real thing and I need to grow up. I sincerely am sorry for being ignorant in thinking that it would be ok to write that publicly and apologize to you in particular. I have to be more mature than to put the reputation of my team at stake and to spread that kind of hate which I dont even believe in. Once again, I sincerely apologize.

Can't we be a little more constructive?

BTW thats a really bad swastika - I thought it was an "F"

That statement he made was completely over the line. I did receive a couple of text messages that have been going around that are on the "funny" side of things, but still a little racist. No where near the level of using the N-word though.

So you can get a dui and arrested for assault and you get a few games suspension, but make a racial post and get kicked off the team. That seems a little harsh to me.

I would have let the minorities on the team decide his punishment. I doubt it would have resulted in getting him kicked off the team.

Do you mean minorities compared to the country's or University's standards, or minorities compared to the team's standards? My guess is that he is a minority on the team.

IMO, the whole thing is over the top. The guy said something pretty ignorant and offensive to most. But the PC crowd will settle for nothing but his head on a platter apparently....

Should he get disciplined? Yeah, but he shouldn't lose his scholly?, no. JMO.

That solution also invites divisiveness which of very dangerous to chemistry. MB did the right thing here. That kind of crap can't be tolerated.

I agree. I was just pointing out how dumb this guy is...yeah he grew up in a small white hick town, but come on dude, look where you are now! You are playing on a football team with probably at least 50% African Americans...uhh maybe you should think before speaking.

How closed minded does one have to be to realize that the people he plays with every ****ing day are actually good people and don't fit any of his sheltered stereotypes?

Exactly, it is quite pathetic. I wonder if he had any previous altercations with some players on his team or if he really did just say something stupid that his old high school buddies were saying in the heat of the moment, even if he didn't really believe it.
