Awesome Game, Cody!!!

Just when I think you can't be get any dumber - you go and do something like this and TOTALLY redeem yourself!!! Awesome job!!!

Cody's team and not just due to this game, he plays extremely well in the clutch . You need must points he always seems up to the task.

I guess he's the one. I wish he could have found a little of this magic last week. This might be a 6-4 football team. Anyway, congrats. Keep it rolling next week.

Over 400 yards offense. If we weren't playing catch-up, DS probably goes for over 100 yards, and damn if the O-line didn't look solid on pass blocking!

Go Buffs! Never though I'd be so ****ing excited to beat a 2-7 ISU Team at home!

Cody is the MVP today and I wanted hansen for the entire game. He lit a spark into this team and i'm thinking it's cody's job the rest of the way.

Again, when the O-line pass blocks, Cody's the guy. If not...:sad1:

I've been the biggest DScott pumper around. But Sumler looked better:

1)He hits the hole faster - that's what we need with a patchwork line.
2)He is great catching out of the backfield. Scott is not.
2)He is a better blocker.

What is Scott better at?

Running in the secondary.

I thought Scott looked okay. Sumler was more solid than usual, hitting the hole.

BUT. We're truly deep for the future! Scott, Speedy, Moyd, Lockridge, Sumler, Polk. We're deep. Just need the line and backfield to mature. Get Simas off of suspension, bring in a Jumbo to stretch the field.

It's amazing how a home victory against a team which hasn't won on the road in three years--albeit a close win--can change one's perspective.

I disagree about his running, Scott had a pretty good day running the ball. He is better in the passing game, though, and that's why he was in the game at the end.

When Cody gets into a groove, He's good. I get the feeling that's how we've wanted to pass the ball all year on those last two TD drive.

He had a decent game running. But watch his approach to the line. It is REALLY REALLY slow. With a ****ty offensive line holes don't stay there long and the back needs to get there fast. That's why Stewart was as effective as he was. Sumler is better at that than Scott. I finally am able to see why the staff hasn't been playing Scott much. It's because he is SLOW to the hole.

Good for Cody... Hand it to 'em, great game... And props to the O-Line today, nice job especially in the second half!!!!

There are times when you're allowed to question who the best quarterback on the team is....

I don't think there's any question who the Leader on the offense is.

Both of the "Roughing the punter" calls were as bogus as they come. I think they got the Ref from a pee wee league in arkansas. The Buffs needed a spark and cody gave it to them. Hansons biggest problem was waiting to long in the pocket to throw the ball.

This was vintage 2007 Cody. Where have you been?

Good question, but as has been pointed out earlier in this thread, the pass blocking was good today. I like Hansen better because of his running ability but Cody certainly did a great job today. At times he moved the team downfield was ease. Great job!

I think Cody played great today but we need to put things in perspective. Iowa State's corners are true frosh and there defense is the worst in the big 12.

I still want to see Hansen in the mix going forward but clearly Cody added the energy we needed in the 2nd half.

I'm surprised we didn't start the game slinging the rock around the field instead of establishing the run.

Oh well. WE WOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D

it looked like the fall practices out there. Cody stands, untouched, for 3 seconds and either throws a perfect pass or scrambles a bit and throws the checkdown....

Cody can be a good QB, he just needs to be standing on the shoulders of a decent oline to do it(not literally);).

I take this as complete vindication of everything I said about Cody. HE was rattled and needed to sit some. But once he settled down (and also got some PROTECTION) he was by far the best QB CU has.

:yeahthat:

I still think, toolswise, Hansen is the guy made for this offense. With experience, he probably has the higher upside in time. But one thing has never been in question...

Cody Hawkins is a MAN.

check that...

Cody Hawkins is a mothaf uckin MAN

:dito:

The first roughing the punter call should have been a running into the punter call (no first down). Unless the ISU punter kicks with his plant leg, Clete Fukknuts, Jr. totally blew that call...

The second call should have been a no call. The punter simply brought his foot down on a rusher laid out flat on the ground.

OTOH, thank you very much to the entire crew for NOT making the delay of game call on the last play.
