A Big 12/SEC championship is shaping up.

I am glad PSU lost to remove their backdoor entry into the game. USC has lost its luster so a 1 loss SEC/B12 team trumps them.

UA/OU
UA/TT

UF/OU
UF/TT

I think Bama plays OU for all the marbles.

It will actually be a game rather than a B11 spanking from the SEC.

OU will need Texas to drop another conference game (in addition to winning out themselves) for them to even make the Big XII championship game. Or are you predicting something like ****braska in 2001 who got to the title game without even playing for their conference title?

Even though Tech annoys me, I'd much rather see them playing for it all than OU. ****ing sooners.

looking forward to the overrated SEC speeeeeeed getting destroyed by TT.
:smile2:
TT v UF in the mNCG... wow. just crazy. spread option v air raid. How many points would that game have?

What is the tiebreaker when 3 teams finish with 1 loss?

TT, UT, and OU can all finish with 1 loss. I heard somewhere that OU won the tiebreaker somehow. However wins that tiebreaker gets the upperhand with a B12CG win vs Mizzou.

Head-to-head games are the first tiebreaker. I'm too lazy right now to look up the next level of tiebreakers since they'd need to be used if the ****ing sooners beat Tech.

Like when Bama played TT a couple of years ago and held a team that averaged over 40 points a game to 10?

Either UF or UA will take away TTs running game. When a team become one dimensional against a good defense they can't score at their normal pace.

Right. Some radio show said OU got it which is why I picked them.

Someone else posted that the tiebreaker is the BCS rankings. Right now, Texas is ahead of the Sooners in the BCS because of Texas' computer ranking. OU is ahead in the Coaches and AP poll. My guess is that the Sooners will jump Texas in the computer rankings with wins over Okie State and Texas Tech. That's probably why you heard the Sooners.

yup. that was how Tech used to be. until this season. Usually they would stomp all over the weaker teams and get shut down by the elites or even decent in conference foes (see - CU last year). This year, their Oline is amazing, and their Defense just SWARMS.

No one, repeat, no one, has stopped TT. not even texas. And Bama's defense can be had. LSU ripped them up, but lost due to the 4 picks.

So ya, I think TT will score plenty of points. The question is can ANYONE score enough to keep up with them? OU might.

Someone said last week it goes by who ever is highest in the BCS standings. Assuming OU beats Tech, I think they'd probably end up highest at that point even though they lost to UT.

I don't think we will need to worry about a tie breaker, cause TT will beat OU

 Tech doesn't have a running game, and they're proud of it...

I am pulling for TT. They are definitely for real. It would be cool to see them win the MNC.

to be fair, tech does have a running game... when they are beating you by 20+ points. Thats what they did against Texas. Almost cost them the game since Texas came roaring back.

I think The Pirate Coach (tm) figured that out and just decided to score until he was pretty sure they wouldn't come back. hence the 56 to 20 shellacking of OSU.

I disagree. I see them running a ton. Every time Crabtree scores a TD reception the whole team runs down to the endzone to congratulate him. They've been running their asses off lately.

With their OOC games against Cincy, UW and TCU OU will get the nod if they beat TT and OSU. It's going to be tough, but I hope they show why good OOC scheduling (don't have to be worldbeaters, just not doormats) will always trump really, really ****ty OOC games (Rice, UTEP and Houston!!?! UMass and EWU?!?)

Ummmmm no they don't. They are 72nd in the nation.

Looking at that statistic is misleading. Obviously Tech's money is the pass game, but they have the ability to run the ball well--especially when the pass game is working; also, a lot of their pass plays are essentially run type plays--it's just that the 'handoff' is away from the QB. They don't need to run for 250 a game when they pass for 450. To say they have no running game is completely false and show that you don't understand their offense--their ability to run the ball is what makes them so deadly because they can burn you if you let them.

I would disagree with your definition of "burn". Have they had a run longer then 20 this year?

Ripped them but threw 4 picks?

They did RUN on us. 154 in the first half but only 47 in the 2nd half when it really mattered.

By burn I mean beat--I thought it was obvious giving the context. They have had some long runs this year especially when defenses have shown them man. The point is that you can't sit back on them this year because they can run effectively and then when you come up on the run they hit you big.

Buffy actually found the full list of tiebreakers last week. If OU, UT and Tech are all tied with one loss their losses will have been against each other, so the highest ranked team in the BCS gets the nod to represent the Big 12 South in the Big 12 CCG.

Big 12 tiebreaker procedure:

http://www.big12sports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=10410&ATCLID=1546006

Divisional Tiebreakers: The following procedure will determine the representative from each division in the event of a tie:

If two teams are tied, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative
If three or more teams are tied, steps 1 through 7 will be followed until a determination is made. If only two teams remain tied after any step, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative.

The records of the three teams will be compared against each other
The records of the three teams will be compared within their division
The records of the three teams will be compared against the next highest placed teams in their division in order of fi nish (4, 5 and 6)
The records of the three teams will be compared against all common conference opponents;
The highest ranked team in the first Bowl Championship Series Poll following the completion of Big 12 regular season conference play shall be the representative
The team with the best overall winning percentage [excluding exempted games] shall be the representative
The representative will be chosen by draw.

To make an argument that their offense is dependant on the running game is not supported by the facts. Their offense is more dangerous then normal this year BECAUSE they can run it every now and then to some effect. However, that offense is built off the pass.

Saying that shutting down the run will stop that offense from working is like saying a car won't run because a headlight is out.

Oh, I understand their running game. You want a different stat? Despite the fact that teams rarely load the box against these guys, they are only averaging 5 yards a carry. They have the 8th best RB in terms of yardage per carry in the big XII as well as the 12th. They are the 10th best in the Big XII in terms of running the ball.

In front of, guess who? Us, and A&M.

Their Run game is OK. Thats it. Nothing that is going to kill you.

Their version of running the ball (Mike Leach even said so), is the screen pass to a WR. That is not running the ball.
