Wow what a hit! I have great confidence that he will turn into a player and hopefully he can avoid the injury bug. He just has a few things to work on (open field tackling when he isnt laying the wood) but next year I feel very comfortable with the secondary.

Remember, he did that with a cracked rib... Walters has taught him well  :gobuffs:

Dont forget about Mohler. He's been all over the field. He'll prob be a Def Captain next year.

He would've if it hadn't been for a miracle kick. Longest FG in NU history. Un-****ing-believable. Un-****ing-believable. I still can't believe they even tried that kick. :bang:

Against any other team, they miss that FG. Sh!t like that happens to CU all the time in this game. Remember Jeremy Aldrich?

I know, is this team cursed? Why is that, why does shi+ like that happen to us?

Maybe we should get more of those Boulder atheists to pray, even if its just for a win.

It was that summer vacation to the Amazon.

This blue collar attitude Hawk is bringing back is awesome. I thought Brewster to UT last year was going to hurt, but he brought the pain train today.

The hit to end the first half was questionable, if that, though looking back.

But that's football sometimes. Hopefully the NU guy is ok (I don't wish anyone personal harm...even our rivals).

I heard that if Walters goes undrafted or gets cut Hawk wants to bring him in as a graduate assistant
sweet. nothing wrong with his football smarts. He was rarely out of position or took bad angles... he was just a Non BCS player in the Big XII. Love him to death tho.

:yeahthat:Walters would make a great graduate assistant. He was always making plays and he could be a great mentor to Mahnke (sp?). The last two games Mahnke has played he has only been out of position once or twice. That is damn good for a freshman.

And DAAAAMMN. Those hits he has been delivering. Shi+, I would never want to meet him over the middle. I believe that was the third injury he was responsible for in the last two games. If i remember correctly he was in on the hit on OSU's Hunter and Pettigrew. He is fun to watch and a good pick up. It might have been freshman luck but lets hope not.

Man, he would do great as a GA. It would to for him to open up a class on knocking players into next Tuesday. Have all of is students dish out some concussion on opposing teams.

yea, he sure can hit, though that was one dirty hit at the end of the half. he knew where the ball was and knew the WR wasn't even going for it. but once he stops that bull**** he will just be a damn good hitter.

Mahnke seems to have what you look for in a safety. He can put the hammer on people. Good choice on number, 12, same as John "Bad Dude" Stearns.
I look forward to watching him play the next 3 years.

I didnt think it was dirty in the least. So what if the ball was overthrown...the play was still going and he didnt lead with his helmet (even though the helmet got knocked off). It was the right call by the refs and I bet made the Husker receivers take note as they walked off at halftime.

I disagree. It was a bad hit and we are lucky it wasn't flagged.

Any hit on a Husker isn't dirty:smile2::cool:

If the ball is overthrown over the middle a linebacker will still put a lick on the receiver, and as long as the ball was around the receiver at the time of the hit it wouldnt be called. The same rules apply on the Mankhe hit. I rewatched the hit numerous times and he timed it very well.

It was a defenseless receiver on an overthrown ball. His hit came after ball had had sailed past the receiver and it was clear he did not catch it. A linebacker should be flagged for the same hit.

We will just have to agree to disagree on this. I don't think it was intentionally dirty, but it was a PF.
