Who goes?

It would seem that Bradford, Maclin and Crabtree are definitely gone.

What else does Bradford have to prove? It is pretty incredible that he was able to improve on his freshman stats. I don't see anything that he has to gain by staying another year, especially considering injury risks.

Maclin would be silly to stay also. I think he's a guaranteed first rounder. With Chase leaving, I can't see Maclin improving his stock.

Maclin or Crabtee? I give the nod to Maclin.

Do you think McCoy leaves?

If I had my druthers, I would want McCoy and Maclin to leave. Bradford and Crabtree can stay and beat up our opponents in the North.

The graduating QB class is very weak imo. I think we'll see a few questionable moves my some underclassmen declaring early.

The senior QB class is fairly weak (Harrell, JPW and Bomar are the top ranked guys with 3rd/4th round grades) ... the top underclassmen probably are McCoy, Bradford and Matthew Stafford. Tebow is eligible also but I don´t know how his game translates to the NFL.

I think Tebow will be a successful QB in the NFL. People assume that because he DOES run well, that he isn't a good passer.

He's an excellent passer IMO. If Tebow couldn't run he would still be a very, very good player. He has the arm strength, size, and accuracy to be able to compete in the NFL. The mobility is just an added bonus - he is more than capable of excelling as a pocket passer IMO.

Hopefully Crabtree and Maclin both go. Crab is a much, much better pro prospect because he is the better receiver. Maclin is the better all around athlete. I don't see Tebow doing that well in the NFL because Meyer was smart and tailored his offense at UF to fit him. He won't be able to do that in a pro system and his passes just aren't that great. Strong arm, but accuracy will be an issue. McCoy may come back for a shot at the NC, but Bradford should go seeing as how he has nothing left to prove. This is a weak class for QB's unless all the underclassmen come out. I don't know about you guys, but I've never been impressed with Stafford and I can't understand why every "expert" is all over his jock and why he's going to be the 1st QB taken.

I've got to disagree with that. He's a great kid and an astounding athlete, but that guy throws and ugly ass ball. Ends up somewhere close to his target more often than not, but that dumpy delivery and those wobbly spirals won't do too well to Sundays. If he can hit he could make one hell of a strong safety though.

I agree with you on all points here, particularly Crabtree being superior to Maclin. Maclin's great, but he's a Tedd Ginn type receiver... Crab's cut more in the mold of Calvin Johnson, Brandon Marshall, Dwayne Bowe - all of the frightfully tall, strong as all hell wideouts.

Might just as well mention Julio Jones there as well. The kid is a man among boys right now.

Yep. Haven't really had a chance to watch him till yesterday. Saw his highlight vid from high school and wasn't that impressed. He didn't look particularly shifty or fast. Boy was I wrong!

please explain to me how Bradford, being just a sophomre is eligible for this years draft. I thought that a player could not leave early until after his 3rd year of playing?

3 yrs after HS is the rule. So if you are a soph. but RS, you can go out, if you please.

ok thanks, I wasn't real clear becauseof the redshirt.....

oh.... btw he will be back for at least one more.... something about finishing his degree before turning pro....

The QB class is very weak. The cash that will be waved in front of him might be too much. Especially if you beat UF.

Yeah, if they can top U of F he'd be stupid to not go pro, especially considering that there might be pre-structured salaries (like they have in the NBA draft) awaiting him if he comes out after his Junior year. That alone could translate to 10's of millions of upfront cash.

He can get his degree in the offseason, plenty of players do exactly that every year.

He should definitely leave and if he feels like he still wants a degree, he can finish it up at a better school. :smile2:

I've heard Bradford is the #1 pick overall, if thats the case and he stays he's an idot

It´s hard to say "XYZ is going to be the #1 pick if he comes out" in early December. If the Lions win a game and Cincy gets the #1 pick Bradford sure as hell won´t be the #1 pick as I doubt the Bengals want to have roughly $180m tied up in 2 QBs. If Bradford does come out, and it´d be the smart thing to do for him, he´ll most likely be one of the top 2 QBs off the board tho. Most scouts seem to have a huge hard-on for Matt Stafford, but a lot can happen between now and April. Hell, Jay Cutler wasn´t even a first round pick at this time 3 years ago.

Bradford the #1 pick? Really? Hey, I like the kid and I think he'll make it in the league, but #1 overall pick? I doubt it. At his age, if he does go pro, he'd be better served to go to a team with an established veteran QB who can show him the ropes a few years before he takes over. If he's the #1 pick, he'd end up in Detroit, which is where draft picks go to die.

Something tells me that Bradford will stay at least one more year. I suppose I could be wrong, though. There's no denying that OU has a ton of talent backing him up, so if he does go, they won't miss much.

Honestly, I think Bradford should stay for one more year for developmental purposes. He may be $hit hot playing the college game, but how many times have we seen QB's that are great in college, or any player in general, leave for the NFL earlier than they should've and end up sucking in the pro's? I think part of the reason he is so good is the offensive players around him and a good offensive line.

While I´d normally agree with those saying he should stay, this really isn´t a normal situation as a) not too many Sophomore have a chance to go pro with a National Championship and Heisman trophy under the belt while yet posession a skill set that´s very much in demand in the NFL and b) as Ralphie pointed out, the future of the current CBA. If the owners get their way, the landscape will change and this might be Bradford´s last chance to go pro with the chance of negotiating his own contract. While I normally agree with the thesis that going pro too early can cost you millions down the line (the size of the second contract or if you even get a second contract at all), I believe Bradford should strike the iron while it´s hot.

I think Bradford and Crabtree will both be top 10 (and maybe top 5) picks if they leave. Maclin is still a first rounder, IMO, but not as high as the other two.

McCoy would likely be a first rounder as well.

I hope Bradford stays for this reason. OU will dominate the likes of NU and Mizzou next year to give us a little bit of an upper hand in the north. We dont play OU next year so I really could care less if he stays or goes, but I think if he stays and they have a new QB in 2010 then we stand a chance to beat them (case and point: OU last year, Bradford was playing his first game outside of Norman and lost)

nfldc has Bradford going to KC at #3 and Crabtree to Seattle at #7 in their early November mock.

Heh...Bradford or not, OU will still dominate the likes of NU and Mizzou next year...
