same old song - South dominates Big 12

I don't know why they have a Big 12 Championship game between the South and North, a much better game would involve a rematch between the # 1 and 2 teams in the South. Wake me up when this game finally gets competitive.

Missouri's not that much worse than Oklahoma, not by a longshot. OU's just completely got Missouri's number, just like Missouri's got CU's right now.

If the two best teams in the conference played in the B-12 championship, OU-UT would play every year

Actually, this year OU and TT would have played. Because OU "won" the south, that meant that 2nd place was decided by head to head between UT and TT, which means TT finished 2nd in the south

if there was to be any justice in this hypothetical, bizzarro world we are imagining here, the tiebreaker rules would be utilized to put the two best teams in the CCG, and that excludes Tech.

rules are created by humans. humans aren't perfect. therefore, the rules are not perfect.

Uh, yeah they are. They're much better actually.

You think the difference in talent between Mizzou and OU is a valid explanation for why all of their games end up as giant blowouts? I think that argument would hold water if OU always beat Missouri by 10 to 14 points, not 30 to 50.

Stoops just owns either Pinkel or Daniels... I guess we'll have a chance to figure out which one it is not too long from now.

I saw a fan holding this up during the championship game last night... Thought it was pretty good.

Im just saying, last week, according to the BCS OU was the best team from the south. That left TT and UT to determine 2nd best and at that point they go to head to head and BCS rankings have nothing to do with determining 2nd place--which would go to TT because of the head to head game.

You suggesting yesterday's result would have been much different had it been Nebraska or Kansas representing the North?

No way in hell any team from the North could've hung with OU yesterday. They are just sick..................:wow:

Possibly. KU only lost to OU by 14 this year, so obviously they can hang with the Sooners to a certain degree (the Nubs... uhh, not so much). Regardless, even if KU had gone and done better than Missouri (which wouldn't be any sort of grand accomplishment considering how monumentally horrible Mizzou played yesterday) that would have been a result of superior game planning and execution, not superior talent.

Ralph you are frickin nuts.. I don't think there's one player on Missouri's starting 22 that would start at OU with the exception of maybe Maclin.. And that's a maybe, because the OU receivers are pretty damn good too..

OU has better players and better coaches.. They could play 10 times, and Missouri would lose 10 times..

And nice job of Pinkel and his OC clowns having Daniel running QB draws against OU.. Almost as stupid as our OC running Little Hawk QB draws..

tell me how much time was left in the game OU/KU when KU scored their last 2 td's and what "string" defense was this against? oh, btw, this was the 1st game after Texas and OU was still adjusting to losing Ryan Reynolds the starting MLB the week before....

Math Problem:

If Missouri beats Colorado 58-0, and Oklahoma beats Missouri 62-21, than what's the score if Oklahoma played Colorado

Hmmm.....

Bigger revenge game than Texas Tech
Home Field
Non existent pass rush
Non existent offense keeps non existent pass rush on the field........

I remember watching Penn State beat Cincinnati 81-0 in 1991....it probably would have been something similar to that. Quite possibly a momentum destroyer since it would have been on Saturday Night on ABC or something similar

Here's the sad truth

OU has dominated this game with six championships, so much for parity.
The last time a south team won was 5 years ago. I was at the 2006 game freezing my ass off, and the 21 - 7 score wasn't as close as it sounds. We were fighting Big Red fans to get out of the stadium early in the 4th quarter. Go Big Red - get in your cars!

I assume you mean North? Or I'm really confused.

Yep, South has won 7 of the last 9 and the 2 North victories were both considered upsets.

When was the last time the North team was actually the favorite going into the game? I'm thinking it must have been Neb. in '99? :sad1:

Speaking of freezing.. why do they play this game in KC? They need to move it back to Houston or San Antonio and play it inside.

If they're going to play it in the cold, why isn't Invesco considered for it? It makes sense Geographically, it's a great city, the airport has flights from any possible city... JMO

But overall, they need to move it back to an inside venue, not to mention, KC's playing surface is awful!

They want to move it around so that it's not always in the South. I agree, though, Sparrowhead is teh succ.

They just said on Monday night football that Colt McCoy is comming back for his senior season. The championship next year is in Texas.

Actually, I'm not sold on Texass yet. I certainly wouldn't hand the any trophies to them a year in advance. If they pound osu, then I'll put them up there as a nc contender in 09. But I need some convincing.

I know this article is dated, but I think he's a sure 1-2 rounder.

UT’s McCoy will review his NFL draft potential
Unless a 1st, 2nd round pick, QB to return to Texas
By JOSEPH DUARTE Copyright 2008 Houston Chronicle
Nov. 28, 2008, 3:03AM

AUSTIN — Texas junior quarterback Colt McCoy plans to seek information from an NFL committee projecting where he might be drafted if he decides to leave school after this season.

“I think it would be foolish not to look at it,” McCoy said. “At the same time, I want to play four years here. Not many people have had the opportunity to do that. That’s really special and important to me.”

McCoy said he will talk with UT coach Mack Brown and weigh his options after the season. Players can submit paperwork to an NFL advisory committee to estimate where, or if, they might be taken in the draft. After reviewing the information, a player can elect to stay in college or make himself draft eligible.

“I’m not familiar with the process,” McCoy said.

The only thing that would change his mind, McCoy said, is if he’s projected as a first- or second-round pick.

But he is not projected as a first-round pick, according to several NFL mock drafts.

“Would it change your thinking?” McCoy said. “We’ll see what happens.”
